Winter ride photo, circa 1977, starring yours truly.
Please feel free to critique the riding apparel that somehow seemed appropriate at the time.

another addict

I recently refueled my bike addiction with a KTM 950 ADV and I'm looking for a chance to hit the TN creek crossings, hill climbs, and single track with some riders like you guys. I did a 4 day woods ride with the fam in Texas over the holidays and now I'm dying to find some riding buddies at home here in TN.

While I'm no pro I've got a lot experience with technical trail riding on big bikes....of course this means I'm also practiced in weight lifting my liter bike off the crash bars on occasion

Anyone have a trail ride coming up they might be willing to let me tag along?

Welcome man, I'm local to you as well.... I ride a XT250, we are on well matched bikes, and I'm pretty new to riding and dirt as well. Give me a shout if you want to go riding!

Thanks for the welcome, gents. I'm in the midst of searching for gear. Is there anywhere nearby or within 100 or so miles with a wide selection and reasonable pricing? I'm in need of basic stuff such as jacket/pants/boots. I've found quite a few decent deals online but I would prefer to try it on first instead of waiting another week for returning a wrong size.

OK ... Guys ........ Sorry you had to see that! ........ I hear KTM 950 990 Adventure and my skills with controlling myself ... was as a child!

Dear Mr nashvilleBill ... My Appologies ... You Are The Man -> Still!

I do have a request of Mr. JeVentures - When DeBandi brings his KTM 990 Adventure up ... you guys gotta ride in front of me so I can listen to those four cylinders roaring!

I promise to stay back 50 feet or more for my own safety!

in what part of TN do you reside?

GGR12 - Suzuki of Cool Springs beat the best online price i could find on a set of Michelin T63's without asking - that was their price. Call first - there boot selection is small.

Hey JV....welcome to the hood. We've got some reasonably cool gravel/rock/dirt road riding around the Centerville area. Just watch this thread for "Hickman County" rides. Several nice street rides around too. I also ride a lot of single track woods. 2 really good riding areas are where I go, but they are a 2 hour drive. It is what it is. I'd be glad to take you sometime but we ride really tight stuff that can be VERY rocky and technical. Many times a day you bang both bars at the same time. 33 inches is considered a wide load

GG...welcome to you too! If you need OEM parts or other stuff, you could order from Motosport. They ship out of N Mississippi. They say you get 3 day shipping but you usually get your order overnight. Just make sure it's in stock.

Both of you guys make sure you check out the "middle-TN pixel hunt" thread.

GGR, look at the Dealerships near Rivergate (Castle and America's Motorsports). Or try Cycle Gear in Madison, also close to Rivergate.

(Matt, think about changing your signature from CX500 (now gone) to CX500 (now TroyJ's)

I'm in Nashville 6 years and counting. I dont' know that I would say owning a 950 ADV is wise...but that certainly doesn't matter when I'm riding it

Sounds like a good time! I'd just ride in the back for when I need to slow down and pass the bar ends through one at a time. Or learn to wheelie and xup

Looking forward to riding with you guys someday!
