Highway 85 between Oak Dale and Grimsley. FWIW, there's one really sneaky hairpin that you just can't see coming...got me in both directions. Just sayin'. And your options there ain't purdy.

I'll post up back here when we get this going. Probably not gonna be this weekend. But soon.

Or you can do it at your own pace:

From NSS

E Bill France / 452
N 10 for ~ mile
E Simmons Bluff Rd.
N 266 for ~1.5 miles
E Sherrilltown Road
E 70/26/83 to Watertown
Continue to Liberty & Dowelltown
N 96/Dale Ridge Road
E 96/24 Nashville Highway
N 96 Shaw Branch Road to Granville
E 53
SE 290/Shepardsville Highway
N 56/290 for ~ > 1 mile
SE 290
NE Cummins Mill Rd.
S 135 Dodson Branch Hy for ~ 1.5 miles
E W. Whitehall Rd.
Name change to Paron Rd.
Cross 4-lane to old 42.
N ~ mile
E Spring Creek Rd
E/S 293
Name Change: Dry Hollow Rd.
N Shiloh Rd
S/E 85 to Grimsley
S 28
E 62 Deer Lodge Hy/Nashville Hy
S 62 to Wartburg
N 116

I still need to tweak a few things, particularly replacing some of the connectors with backroads, but you get the idea.

This map isn't entirely true to the route either, but I was playing with making the GPS follow it. I'm close, but like the text route, it still needs tweaking.

The whole route, as intended, should take at least 6 hours one way. More like 8-9 with reality thrown in. I know it's only 200ish miles, but it ain't freeway

Oh, and Shiloh Rd connecting 85 at the east end is a little bit gravel. The other little bit is kinda rough. Do-able on any bike, but just sayin' . Might wanna make a note of that in the re-route.

The gravel is no worse than this...certainly not enough to warrant turning a road bike around.

Just watch the mileage through here

Oh, and between Wartburg and 116 is maybe 10 miles of construction zone.

Enjoy!

No problem bro. Seeing that carnage is making me get a quality skid plate for my DRZ. Seeing is believing....skid plates are a MUST if you're going to ride gravel.

Here's she is before you get her cleaned up.....ouch:

Hated to see that happen. DOn't you hate it when something goes wrong and messes up a ride.... Hope you get a good deal on a replacement. Let us know when you're back ad running and we'll go rip Hickman COunty a new one

Will do man... Will hit ya up. I got the parts on order. They are used and I got both sides for 168! off of E-bay. I called the INSC co. to see what they might do. I am probably going to get inpatient and want to fix it asap. Have to wait and see.

I'm a little surprised at how well it's settled in already. We got ahold of it when it was nice & fresh
