So if anyone's still interested in doing that twisty ride, I'm gonna do it again early next week. Err, I'm going a bit further than that, but I'm probably gonna stop for the day in the Norton, VA area.

You can turn around there if you want or anywhere or follow along up to the Snowshoe WV area to a bit of a good-ass rally. I'd expect a 3-400 mile day one way. Nothin' but twisty backcountry goodness and a ride through a town every now and again. Expecting 10ish hours riding time each day.

Any takers this time?

the rocks are nice and compact now. if you run the wheel tracks you can make good time. the muddy portions were certainly interesting after the rains this weekend, especially for my friend who was running scorpion trail tires.

The weather is looking great for Sunday. See you guys at Chickasaw Trace. I will be there at 10 AM.

I will try to have a loosely memorized route through the outskirts of Hickman County by then. Mostly pavement, but there may be a little stretch of dirt road here and there. (the maps arent always correct.) I will be on the big bike.

R F,
Can't join you next week but it does sound good.

coryrides and CDQ3,
I'm in for prob Sunday. Give me the low-down on terrain as I'll be on the F800GS with stock tires.. Any woods or Singletrack stuff? Or just back roads exploring / dirt (mud) paths. I'll go if it's appropriate. Just let me know. I'll be getting out somewhere. Gots to break in my new boots!

This sunday's ride will be mostly paved back roads, perhaps a section or two of dirt roads, but no creek crossings or anything. I will be riding 2 up with my wife, so nothing crazy at all.

We gotta cut the creek crossings down, Stan can't afford to by new tires every time we do them. I am good for the first 5-10, but my tires don't seem to appreciate any more than that. Although........ the rear is starting to wear down..... may be a good excuse for a new one!

Does anyone know the status of the tracks regarding the downed trees on the dualsport route we rode a couple weeks ago? I've got some time on Saturday that I could spend cutting and clearing the roads but if it has already been taken care of I would rather ride. The fried bologna sammich at Tarkington's is calling my name.

I was out there 2 weeks ago.

Barren Fork Bridge rd still had trees in the way

Thompson Ln didn't have trees (I think), but you still had to go thru that guys field

I didn't ride Ben Fly

Let me know if y'all want to have a clearing party. My modified FJ Cruiser can get almost anywhere and can haul people/stuff (chain saws).

Whereas I just mentioned clearing the roads, you go and add party to the task. Are you bucking for Road Captain?
