Good grief! Who didn't get a bike today?

Thanks for the heads up, B-Doug, I did snag the DRZ.

It's impossible to know for sure what has been done to the internal parts on this bike without pulling it apart, but the stuff thats showing is first class. The titanium Akropovic pipe is brand new. Carbon Fiber armor, new. Tires, new. Black rims, powder coated hubs, plastic, tank, all new. If the stuff inside is up to par with the outside, IHF will be trying to get out of this ones way. It was listed with a new big bore kit, RG3 suspension work, and HotCams, and was told all of the bearings were replaced after the powder coating. I see no reason to doubt it.

2fast nailed the reason for the discounted price. The bike was NEVER reassembled properly. The carb on a DRZ is a true pain in the ass to mount, and it was never seated correctly, on either end. The trouble he described is exactly what you would expect from this problem. The jetting looks like it will be close, but sucking air as bad as this one must have been, it was so lean it was never going to run right.

(Just kidding, Jason, that is a sweeeeeeet ride)

And congrats to SandalScout, he now has a full grown motorcycle!

(just kidding with you, too, Matt, but you were WAY close to too big for that bike. It's always better if you have more than one cc of displacement for each pound of rider.)

Damn Jason, that thing is nice! You and Troy scored awesome rides today! I think you are right, I've not planning much for the KLR, just gonna ride the crap out of it. I would like to get a slightly bigger (at last dimensionally, the 250 is just too dang small for me) dirtier bike in the future..... leaning DRZ at the moment, but that's going to be a ways off.

Matt, I may take you up on that. I'll get back to you.

Troy, To be fair, I am (finally) under 1 pound per CC on the 250! hahaha Can't wait to see the new bike back together and on the road.

Oh Troy you are making my feel like I could just puke right now.
I saw that bike and thought DAYUM! Could that be true??
I even thought if he did build it wrong could it be parted our for more that 15...and I could keep those wheels
Then I saw you were calling about it and I started feeling sick I knew it was too late.
I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE CALLED!!!!!
Oh well, can't win them ALL
And I guess if I bought two bikes today I would be sleeping on BajaJug(s) couch tonight

Check it out, that KTM is a gayrage queen.
2004 450EXC with 21 hours / 440 miles on it
Came with original dirt wheels with original tires with 95% tread on them.
Also had KTM hardparts supermoto racer kit 95% tires left
Beringer 6 piston caliper kit too.

Seller was out of B'Ham so DeBandi cold hooked me up and picked it up for me.
Now......him actually handing the bike and title over to me.....that's a bridge I have yet to cross

Hey Sandal, did you pick that bike up local or what?
Looks pretty straight. Engine looks clean. No scratches or stains.

Yeah, picked it up about 10 minutes from my house, but Troy hooked me up. It was a friend of a friend of his. I got an AWESOME deal (to me anyway), $1200 and it has 14k miles on it. Not bad for a 2001. It had been abandoned and apparently left outside at some point, but you can't tell now. The plastics had all the usual UV fading and have been repainted, but it looks pretty good in pictures at least.

I'm happy, got a bike I can ride comfortably all day long. Makes the XT look TINY next to it. I need to find someone who's wife wants to ride and trade a DRZ for my XT.
