Yeah, if I never rode 2-up, and I were looking for a street bike, the FZ1 would be at the top of the list. However, if you're going to be doing any 2-up street riding, the FJR can't be beat.

I think the bottom line is that bike choice greatly depends on the type of riding you do, or intend to do. A motocross bike doesn't make a very good touring bike and visa versa.

Almost 5 days with no activity! Craziness! Surely there are some rides happening this weekend.

MidTN@LBL.RIDE

If you are thinking about riding LBL with us in May, we have reserved all of Loop B at Energy Lake. Details on Sandalscout's thread http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...859995&page=12

Remember, if you know anyone wanting to try DS or ADV riding, this is the place. I'll be on the V-Strom with mostly road tires, and I've seen a Street Glide WAY off the pavement. Bring out the rookies, this will be great for them. (Kev, I have a very special route planned for you..... )

Scouting South LBL

I'd like to do a scouting ride starting at the Central Welcome Station heading south this weekend or next week. I will be searching out dirt roads and jeep trails with as little blacktop as possible. Id also like to include a quick run over to Energy Lake campground and put eyes on the site and facilities. Post up if you are interested in tagging along or leading(I've never explored the south end). I'll be equipped with maps and a gps. It is sure to be a good time.

The land that I learned how to ride on back in Fla. was stolen by the government & made "Off Limits" to anyone but hikers. They said it was to preserve the land for future generations but, after twenty years of preservation they sold it to a developer & turned it into yet another cheaply made, over priced gated community.

Today they will steal/confiscate any dirtbike or four wheeler that they catch being ridden anywhere within the county. Most insulting of all is that this is in a county that is OVERFLOWING with crack & oxycontin but at least the citizens are safe from dirt bikes & four wheelers. I'm sure it won't be long before they are expected to pay higher taxes for that kind of safety.

TYRANNY SUCKS!!!!!

disgusting

The TWRA Decision doc says that ORVs caused a landslide...I suppose they also cause the random sink holes around TN. Sarcasm meter is going up.

Blue Ribbon Coalition can be a good group to support. They assisted a lot with helping to "curb" the great land grab in the west.
From what it looks like, they havent been real active in Tennessee in a couple of years. They have a link on their site that you can email action alerts and issues to.

Bottom line.....if we like to ride, we should probably get active (myself included).

EDIT: I just sent them the link regarding the story on Aetna Mtn

Why does that sign say "State of Hawaii" at the bottom?
