Sound like an exciting morning.....

The Tin Roof in Coble was closed. No signs to say when or if it will re-open. We did the RTE over to Centerville at Breece's. Nice day to get out and ride.

Thanks again to Mark for the map of Hickman County. I'll be back!

A bit windy out this morning. Not bad, but on Tn-49, I got blown around just as I entered a tree stand that got my attention really quickly.

Was supposed to meet my buddy Matt in Erin @ 10, totally forgot about the Saint Patty's Parade there. Got stuck on the parade route, never saw Matt, my phone died today (who knew a bad SIM could keep a phone from booting????). Did a little bit more riding until the bike started acting up (tank not venting) and then came home in even more wind.

Was a nice day, but not a great ride for me.

I got out for a ride today. Only did about 100 miles due to the wind and my allergies. Got a bite to eat in Westmoreland at the bbq joint and had a good ride even though it didn't last long. My allergies are killing me now. Gonna have to find something better than Zyrtec.

I've always liked Allegra. Just my $0.02.

Hey Thread - I used to have super bad allergies.
Went to the Dr. and they gave me a nose spray - Nasonex.
Man that stuff turned my life around.
Now if I sense a little allergy nose, I just take a spray and I'm good for the rest of the day if not longer.

I guess I'm trying to ay go see a Dr. if you haven't already.

You'd be better off trading the FJR for it because you won't ride it after you buy the Tenere. The Tenere will do everything the FJR will do, but it won't do what the DR will do. The only problem is that the FJR guys won't talk to you anymore.

I still talk to you Mike, I might snicker behind your back but I talk to you. Honestly, the DR will do more than I really want to do anymore off road and I don't get to ride solo so 2up takes me even closer to the S10. But I can't give up on the FJR yet. I think I'd be happy with a DL1000 but if I go that far I might as well get what I want.

I was in nearly the same boat last year, as Clocklaw. I sold the Wee to my girlfriend because I wanted the punch of my ST1300 but still be able to ride the dirt like the Wee, and more. Once I tried the Super Tenere, I HAD to have it.

I still have the ST1300, the XR650R and access to the Wee. I still ride with the ST-owners group claiming that "I thought ST meant Super Tenere, too?" It does not matter what you ride - it's about the quality of the people. Friendships mean more than branding.

Last year, the ST1300 got about 5k on the clock, the S10 got 20k after purchasing it in May and the XR picked up about 600-800 miles. If I had to get down to one bike, the S10 would be the one. Solo,2 up, long distance, commuting, gravel, mild dirt conditions - this bike does it all and does it so much better than anything else that I have ever ridden. It does not have as much punch as the 1300 and it will never be as light as the XR, but DAMN this bike is fun to ride! I love to explore the roads less traveled and this is the perfect tool for the job. Near or far makes no difference. I've already done 2 Iron Butt rides on this bike and ridden from Maine to Montana during 2012. There is no disappointment in this purchase for me.

My recommendation: purchase the Super Tenere and everything else will gather dust. You won't be the first with the dusty bike syndrome.

Was that the Tenere at Yamaha Cool Springs? Saw it there yesterday. That thing was priced real nice!! Those bikes I believe are still real hot out west.....couldnt get one below retail for quite some time. I gotta say, the parts and accessory department at the Yamaha store has improved a ton. Way more stuff and the guys behind the parts counter are super helpful. They talked bikes with me for a while. I bought a couple things. They didnt have a spark plug for my CR500, but said their Honda store next door has it. The guy said "let me call over there so they have it ready when you walk in". Pretty nice. Seems minor, but most shops wont even think of doing that.

Yep, that's it. As for your comment about the parts department, they have been getting all my business for years and Joe is really working hard to make the experience what you just described....perfect every time.

Clocklaw, I think a bike like the S10 would be a whole lot of fun! It'll get you to a lot more places than either of the 2 bike you currently have. That's a fine looking machine and seems to be loved by most who've had/has one.
(Note. I love spending other people's money.)
Let us know what you decide.

Well, I have a couple of things to sort out first but we'll see what happens after my house refinance is finished.

Uh-oh. I see a Tenere in your future.

Keep it or not. The FJR's days are numbered if you buy a Tenere. I don't really see the DR hanging around either if you don't ride anything gnarly. If you guys ride any rough stuff, the DR will continue to serve a purpose, but the FJR will not.

Just my $0.02. Go ahead and get one, you'll see.
