MAN OH MAN! Awesome ride today. I didn't make it to Leiper's Fork to catch the beginning, and I peeled off as the other guys turn south again, but I had 215 miles on the bike today! Awesome day, close encouters with TWO park rangers on the Trace, runtover snakes, and just a great day of riding!

Jason, thanks for leading a great ride. It was great meeting Nick, Hunt and Charlie, and really good to see Mike, Travis, Matt, and Jason again, it's been a while since I've ridden with most of you.

Thanks for the juice guys but....man I'm just out there trying not to get run over from behind

Holy smokes what a ride - we ripped the entire time. Te group was fast. Thread has really picked up the speed. SPinnit is getting better at wheelies.

Let's see :

  • I go down in Lick Creek about 10 minutes after my "I'm tellin ya'll these creeks are slick.
  • We meet up with Trav at 55 mph
  • Somehow make it to SS and were only 10 minutes late
  • IHF and GG stop and Dollar General and put on dry sock with trash bag gore-tex liners
  • Pass mail truck that was almost stuck going up a hill
  • Get to see the Coble tornado damage
  • Discover a new powerline section maybe a mile long - prob longer
  • tons of washouts and rills - some of them deep
  • IHF (mainly) and SPinnit get stuck trying to climb a hill
  • Prob 5 of 7 bikes hit reserve
  • Jump on to Trace to try and take shortcut to pumps
  • Sandal has epic drop and roll on the KLUR
  • As soon as we get back up on Trace two federalies are shaking us down - they were pretty cool - we get off no trouble
  • DFU runs out of gas
  • Spinnit runs out of gas
  • GG runs out of gas
  • beer in duck river
  • moped convention and campout
  • skimmin puddle on the rear wheel at 60 mph
  • Oh....and 200+ miles
Man I'm rode out for today.

Well, just like renfro my dang helment cam was too low. Most footage is ehh..... And battery must have been dead for the SS roll and park ranger episode.

Here's mill creek followed by some muddy ruts and small jumps.

Do I sound that dorky in real life?

Today was one of those days.....

So epic. Sorry I had to peel off early. After our run in with the Natty Trace Gendarme, I got the enjoyment of riding 22 miles (but who's counting) up the Trace with no speedo.
Pictures and more comments to follow.

Damn, missed this ride!! Looked like a doozy.

Well, a snipe snapped this pic of "I Hate Farting" doing his pre-ride ritual. Covering his tender footsies with oversized condoms.

I don't understand why people keep saying I've picked up speed. I really don't feel like I'm going fast unless I have to get right with the Lord a couple times during a ride.

We got lucky today. I had something typed up, but it just doesn't need saying on a forum. We just got lucky, that's all.

2nd that. From just "riding around the farm" to hanging strong, like a boss.

I'll keep it short. As you guys know, I have spent some time around bikes. This was one of the best rides I have been on, period. Top notch group of guys, all of you. IHF is the man, period. And to show him how much I like him, I even went swimming with him, so he wouldn't feel lonely. Thanks to all of you for letting me tag along. I can't get ready for the next one fast enough.

TK, you have gotten faster... quite a bit faster. You are tons faster than you were on the KLR, but you've gotten even faster the longer you've had the DRZ.

What'd we get lucky about??? Po-po?
