I did a little Hickman scouting last Sunday afternoon. Creeks seemed pretty low. I even managed to cross Lick Creek on the GS without knobbies and without swimming.

Would be up for something this weekend if I can break loose.

S Lick

Well...I went out on Monday with my employee to do a short Hickman loop. And we got crushed by the rain. And everyone's favorite water crossing looked a bit different on the return trip.

Might check out Jeremy Weber off 615-451-3700 cell 954-6585341. Has flow bench, good people.

LBL Adventure......woo...hoo

So I went to LBL this afternoon to do some trail riding. It's been like 2 weeks since I last did, great weather today, why not! Well everything was going great all day until I got to one trail on a downhill section and realized flooding had completely destroyed it by making huge 3ft deep dropoffs in the trail....and I was on the wrong side of one to get it even close to a flat downhill.....So I tried to turn the 450lb bush pig around through this ditch while walking it, but I dropped it....now how the hell am I going to pick this thing up when its got a hole under it?

So I drag it, curse loudly....drag some more....ok I think I can get it upright in this spot....FUCK THE CLUTCH HANDLE IS SNAPPED OFF AT THE BASE!? ZEE HANDGUARDS, YOU DID NOFFING!!! No epoxy putty in my backpack, I forgot it the one time I really need it.....but I do have duct tape.....I must make this work cause hell if I am going to call someone to come get me (what the hell kind of adventurer would I be then!?)

The next hour involved:
- Cutting the clutch safety start and disabling it
- Using the electric start motor now turning over to get the bike out of another deep rut and pointed uphill
- Duct taping the clutch to a semi usable position so I could at least dis-engage it enough to shift somewhat by matching wheel/engine speed

It was a fun 70 mile ride out and back home...now I need to buy a new clutch lever ASAP.

Lesson: Never forget epoxy putty....
