Left the petcock on 'prime' to keep her running.
The inaugural ride was quite fun. Good bottom end, revs nice, sounds phenomenal going up through the gears. Feels race-track-like. Yummm!
Just 'going around the block' in shorts, helmet, t-shoes, t-shirt, etc...
Got a little to frisky on old tires. This bike seems to have it out for me.
Now I have a little more work to do to than before. Yep.
Low-side. Ug.
I'm hear to tell you 90 degree corner, 35-40 mph, old rubber, dressed as described as above = ouch.
My right side is pretty rashed-up. Knee, forearm, wrist, upper arm, shoulder, helmet...
Bent a few things on the right side of the bike. Turn sig stalk, rear brake pedal, front brake lever, mirror rash, bar end, silencer cover, maybe more. Darnit!
Oh well, getting the demons out early. Going to be one FUN bike, I can already tell.
Riding in flip flops is not a good idea.

Ask me how I know.

Dang R2L - - - that stinks but thanks heavens it wasn't worse than it was.

At least you didn't break anything . . . .. or worse, tear anything off

And I'll 2nd the emotion on kicking a bike with flops on . . . heck I won't even do it with tennis shoes. Full boots only.

Thanks fellers... Lesson-learned -or- reminded. Funny thing, we rode to a run in Leipers Sat am. then breakfast afterwards. Yes, had shorts and running shoes on, but at least had on helmets/jackets. I'd be far more comfy today if I had at least THAT.

More to the cause.
Petcock inop., Only way to keep fuel flowing is to keep it in the 'prime' position. Problem is that it overflows the bowls and guess where I routed the overflow lines? Right in front of the rear tire?
Makes for a slickery rear tire.
Golf was tough today. But it was good to shake it all loose vs. sitting on the porch all day.

So where did everyone ride today?

Dooood...... I am glad you are ok, sounds like it will all heal, but, as an RZ owner I must shed a tear for the bike as well. All those things you mentioned can be tough to find, at least in good condition and for a reasonable price. At least you didn't ding the tank...

Well I took my wife over to the fork, left the house about 6 p.m. and had a great ride down the trace and the old 96 and south harpeth back to the house.

I rode my mower in circles for about an hour.
Then rode the weed-eater.
Then rode to the dump.
Then road a buggy around Krogers.
The rode a soapy brush all over my wifes . . . . . . . . . . . . . .car.
The rode up a ladder to see why in the heck my garage door opener won't close. Seems like it doesn't know to "go the other way".

We started in Big Sandy & ended up hill climbing in New Johnsonville. I had an epic high side on a steep hill climb but, it was on a rain break so my bike just broke off half the F. break lever & didn't go end over end down the hill. I didn't even bend my crappy stock handle bars. I didn't get it on video though cuz I had the solid door on my Gopro & it over heated. I only got 3 (didn't even get all of the Big Sandy video) of the 7 videos I shot, down loaded to my computer.

Need Help Finding Trails

Howdy to all you middle Tn'ers out there. I am gonna be visiting some family in Smithville, Tn., specifically around the Hurricane Dock area on centerhill lake, the week of July 4th from Weds-Sun. I was wanting to bring my bike with me and do some trail riding while I'm there but I have no idea of any trail systems in that area. Can someone point me in the right direction or be interested in meeting up and guiding me around some trails in that area? Bike is not plated so all I can do is offroad. Thanks.

Chad, I'm surprised no one has chimed in, I know some of these guys are still off-roading. I've drifted into the dual-sport phase, got tired of losing places to ride. There is an area to the north and west of Smithville around Livingston that many people ride. It has been so long ago for me I doubt I could get there.

One of you dirty boys or girls needs step up and help this fella out!
