Ya'll know the TKO is in two weeks right?.

Me and DFU are thinking about trailering down to SV on Saturday morning,
ride SV all day Saturday,
stay at the roach motel Saturday night,
then hang out at the TKO on Sunday.

Holla if you want a piece of it - - - -

I personally wouldn't take anything larger than a 500 on Calico. We had a guy on a 690 with us who turned back about 2 miles into the trail (when we came upon the wall of rocks in the one picture). It took us over an hour to get all the 250-500 dirt/dual sport bikes up and over that section. While most of the trail is pretty straight forward high altitude single track, there are 4-5 sections that are as challenging as anything I've ever ridden. The fatigue factor was huge just working a 250 over those sections at 13,000 feet. I wouldn't attempt them on a big bike.

Went with a group of friends. We do a big dual sport trip every year. One of them (Ian Stal) put the trip together. We rented a house in Ouray and did day rides each day. I have all the GPS routes if anyone is interested. Highly recommended trip. Here's a video of the trip:

Yeah, the group was a bit bigger that year. We had people from Michigan, Florida, Colorado, Tennessee (though I am a Michigan transplant) and Hungary. Amazingly, no bikes were lost and no one was seriously hurt. We didn't even experience a single flat tire among the entire group. Yet the same people can come visit me and ride SV and get two flats in two days!

We're in the process of planning this year's trip. It will be a week long trip this fall either through the Smoky Mountains (starting over near Tellico Plains and going north to West Virgina) or another loop around the Michigan Upper Peninsula. I really wanted to head out to Jackson, Wyoming but that's not going to happen this year due to everyone's schedule.
