Just after that, I sat motionless, straddling the bike, half way up a different hill and in the middle of the trail for about 20 min. I was completely tapped out of energy. I knew if the bike fell over, I would never be able to pick it up.

I'm at a point in my riding that if it's more like work, eff it. I'm out.

THIS candy ass will in the truck, running the AC, sipping a beer.

I have conquered all the extreme moto challenges I need to in this lifetime. There was a time I would have loved to try the Extreme Enduros and Erzberg type riding. I'm perfectly content with the Candy Ass label today, and would be glad to give the paramedics any info they need to help you.

Meh, don't sweat it and ride your own ride. Most importantly, don't get hurt.

Glad to hear that you went, not knowing for sure if they'd let you ride the event. I wish I could've ridden this year; I'm still healing from my LBL200 crash in 2011. Gotta watch out for those oak trees, they'll jump right out in front of you!

I'll be out of state for a couple of weeks...we need to meet up over a cup of coffee sometime.

I'm glad I went too, and I'm very seriously wanting to get a smaller bike now for this sort of stuff.

I tore the bike down yesterday and got everything fixed except the starter button, but I bought one off ebay, so I should be back on the road soon. Let me know when you want to meet up; We could get a small group of locals together pretty easily.

I'm going to send in my application in hopes of finding someone to ride with out there this Saturday. Anyone want in? If not, hopefully I'll bump into someone to tag with.

My 2 cents FWIW ? ? ?

I've had a plated 2 stroke before - yea it's cool but - you rarely have the opportunity to use it the way you want too (road sections, Hickman, stuff like that.) Plus smokers just don't ride well on road sections......BUT, yes you can do it.

If you're wanting a lighter dirt bike - I'd look for a tagged 450. You can ride them anywhere - they have plenty of power for road sections - light enough to flick around. Heck, I bet 60% ?? of the bikes at the LBL were 450s.

PLUS - get you a 450 and you can go be a jackass with us in East-TN / NC

All good points. I have never had a 2 stroke bigger than 49cc, and I saw a 220 recently for cheap. I told Troy I would love to get an xr400 but don't want to kick it. Who knows what I might end up with if anything else.
