Me, Twist and Kevaroni went dirt riding this weekend at Carter Mtn.

HAD A BLAST

There's a local ride report HERE

Too lazy to re-write the whole thing here on ADV . . . . . .. . .. .

I've been curious about that...my more "streetish" bike doesn't get much use and I've been considering trying to horse trade for a 300. Then, just use the 525 as my dual sport. I really hate riding on the road anyway.

Is the 300 taggable in TN/ MSO doesn't have the off road only blurb? And, how's the maintenance on the 300 compared to the RFS engines.

Yep - you can tag'em if you know how. You don't need or want an MSO for tagging - throw it away!

Maintenance is like any other bike - the more / harder you ride them the more often it needs love - but nothing different from a Jap bikes. chains, sprockets, pads, tires and a top end every 300-400 hours

I don't know how many of you are aware, but Jeff is looking for a new bike. He didn't bother to tell me that he'd already found one. I saw it during my lunch break today.

Hey all, new to the area. Longtime (but not heavy) user at ADVRider. I just moved to southern Williamson county (Thompsons Station) from northern Virginia (Bristow).

I have a 2006 Buell XB12x that is my street bike I bought new and have just recently acquired a brand new 2013 KLX250s (from Cool Springs Kawasaki) and a new to me Can Am DS450 quad.

Getting a little tired of blasting around on the fields behind my house, and since they are being developed I doubt I'll have access much longer.

Looking for some dual sport rides in the area. I ordered and received the Dirt Devil ride map but would rather run it with someone familiar with it, but honestly I'm up for anything. Just looking to familiarize myself with the riding spots and maybe meet some new buddies in the process.

If you know of anything coming up, or where to subscribe for information on organized rides, anything to help a newbie out I'd love the help. Haven't had time to sift through this incredibly long thread yet.

Feel free to reach out, my email is my username at gmail. Thanks and I'll be subscribed here.

Mike

Welcome Mike, you are in the right place! Generally when group rides happen, they will be posted here. It's been a little quiet around here lately, but no doubt as other summer hobbies wrap up, riding will pick up soon.

After all - big thick goat coats are really popular here in these parts

Now maybe if it had some hairy chaps to go with it

Check out that ride at Prentice Cooper - you have to trailer tehre but it's a good place to ride offroad.

Grab those dirt devil maps and take off - you can't get that lost :) Good, fun easy chert roads all over Hickman County
