Middle Tennessee DS Ride Schedule Q2 2010

I'm hopefully going to get some ride time approx 1-2pm this Sunday afternoon & want to find a quick loop starting from gravel Dutch Potts Hollow Rd off Leipers Creek to test out my new to me bike. I'm starting from Cool Springs area if anyone wants to join.

Can someone suggest a short loop close to that area please ?
I was thinking :
Dutch Potts
Old Natchez
Porters Branch
S Lick Creek Rd
Doug Thompson Rd
Old Natchez

Is S Lick Creek Rd a gravel road or only parts of it ? Any better gravely roads in that area that aren't too far west? I bought the Dirt Devil map years ago, but now that I need it I can't find it.

And also if there are gas stations on that loop.

Only going to have a 3-4 hours to ride (3 kids) but the weather is supposed to be high 40s-low 50s & sunny.

Thx in advance for the help !

Basecamp

Do you have basecamp installed on your computer? Its a free Garmin program. Pretty much most people use Garmin units (they are the 900 pound gorilla) and basecamp is a good tool for ride planning and exchanging tracks, routes, etc. If you have base camp, I can send you some tracks and whatnot that would fill the bill. What you have selected is fine for a short ride. Gas at Leipers and at the 100 should keep you sorted out.
I may join you, not sure yet.

I have a track from the Sloan's loop this fall that is relatively short, but it has does have a bit of pavement in it.

The ones that aren't slept in an icebox.

The ones that are slept in a sweat-box.

Funny how that worked.

Thanks Graygoat657
I have a Zumo 550 mounted on my Hyper, but no mount on the GasGas. I've never used the basecamp before, sounds like I need to get w/ the times. Maybe have to look in to one of the Garmin 62s type units. Would be cool if you wanted to ride also.

Cool! My plan is to get to Puckets Grocery in Leipers Fork ~1:30-2 pm.
I think Dutch Potts is ~15 miles from there on the right. No worries on the speed thing. I like to enjoy the scenery.

If anyone is considering joining us on Sunday, but not familiar w/ the terrain here is a picture I took of Dutch Potts Hollow Rd a few years ago. Not sure if the other roads in the area look the same... Hope to find out on Sunday !

Well - he is giving her the helmet...................................

Hickman county eh?

You guys make sure you chip in and pay for IHF's gas fund and such when you find yourself in the obscure locations where gum may be the best dental plan.
