I hope to ride the Dirt Devil pretty soon and generally get to know this kind of riding better. I've been riding regularly only since last November.

That said, I was at Country Boy in Lieper's Fork (in my car, alas) around 7:30 this morning and saw a procession of adv & dual sport bikes pulled up in front of Puckett's. I was too shy to just come over and say hi. Were some of you there?

Yep- but most of the "ADV" riders were gone when I got there about 7:45. I sucked down half a cup of truly awful coffee and hit the road.

I wasn't there but, there's no reason to be shy. All the folks I've met here on ADVrider are a much better class of losers than anyone else I've come across in life. Everyone is very friendly & usually looking for an excuse to get out & ride.

2014 Dirt Devil has come & gone. Sadly, I missed it too. A bunch of guy's have the route on GPS though & you might be able to get someone to make a day of it. I don't have a GPS or know the route but, if I'd love to tag along if anyone wants to lead.

Land Between the Lakes National Park (in the Dover area) has A ton of easy to intermediate gravel you might want to check out as well.

WS, the Sloan's Dirt Devil ride has passed, but the guy who puts it together does several rides each year.

Thanks, I had no idea. Somebody needs to inform me of the next one. I really enjoyed the one Sloan's did last year.

Yes, Yes I did , I rode a 250 xc, 300 xc, 350 xc, and a 500 xc-w, THe engine on the W model is a little milder than on the xc model. I prefered the 500 xc-w but probably if they had a 350 xc-w that would have been the one ! BUT Watch this, LOL , the 2010 400 xc-w did great and if they had all been for sale for the same price I would have still picked the 400, suspension was great, very controllable power and plenty of it. I did notice a very slight difference in the suspension on the 500 but it would be like splitting hair's between it and the 2010 400. All in All it was a great time and great weather I will do it again next year !

I was just messen with ya. I'm always (well, usually) looking for an excuse to get out & ride some dual sport shenanigans & our Benton county run was a HOOT. That land is now littered with "No off road vehicles" signs that are a huge eyesore & cast from cheap metal that I'm sure is toxic to the environment.
