Caught up with Barrett (Rob Feature, remember him?) in Denver and we took the mountain bikes up near Steamboat Springs for 3 days of camping and riding.

I don't suppose that after 30 years of avoiding all things pedal-powered that my first foray back into the sport should have started at over 9,000 ft and headed uphill from there on rocky two-tracks, but I really did enjoy it and suffered no ill effects. So other than committing the fashion faux pas of riding a bicycle with jeans and boots instead of weasel squeezers and custom shoes I came away unscathed and merely chastised.

He's still working on it. Three more semesters I believe.

You know the cool thing about college?

I keep getting older, but the girls stay the same age.

I don't think the service writer appreciated the "patina" of my Dakar. Nothing but "scratch", "rub", "crack", "oil", "gouge", and worst of all, "well worn". Obviously has no understanding of an adventure bike.

Tire gets good reviews.

Looks like it'll be pretty good at hanging on to the sides of mountains

Gonna be in Nashville September 5th, 6th and 7th. I am looking for some day trips on good twisty back roads or ATV trails. Any rides happening that I can tag along on? I have a DR650 with Kenda K270 knobbies on it. I started a thread, reply there or shoot me a PM.

You can get a map from dualpurposetn.com and check out some nice Mid-TN stuff.

I talked with Lisa about this, she said it's a very open event, and a lot of fun. I'm thinking about going, if I can fit it into my schedule.

It's largely a BMW event but moreso it's a gathering event. You won't be shunned if you're not on a BMW and you'll be just as welcome around the firepit. It's something to watch the riders do the challenge course there at the farm. HappySon will be there with me riding his dirtbike, hangin' with the big boys. With the exception of the day they do ribs, the fella who cooks at MMM usually puts together a couple of meals.

It's a good time.
