Moto-Tours: Who and Where?

Greetings,
Recently I was asked by some budding moto-tourists where they could research various motorcycle tour companies. After searching ADV Rider diligently, the answer to their question wasn't obvious.
So, in the interest of helping anyone who's interested in selecting a moto-tour, but doesn't know what tour operators are available, lets start a list of the tour companies you know, have used, and your thoughts about them!
It'd be great to post a link to any ride reports you've written about the tour as well.

Who know, if this goes well, maybe there could even be an entire section on the site devoted to this?

Who wants to start?

Beach's!

http://www.bmca.com/

We'll be off on our fourth tour with them this year and I would highly recommend them over some of the bigger outfits. Every tour is personally run by Rob, and he and Gretchen do a simply outstanding job. Great attention to detail, great inns and country hotels, great routes and fantastic food.

We really like them since they are extremely flexible. Ride with Rob and you'll see places you never thought you'd see, plus more than likely some new adventures! You can also ride your own route at your own pace.

We've done the Eastern and Western Alps as well as the Northern Italy tour. We're doing the Corsica tour in Sept and fully intend to do a new tour affiliation they have planned for Chile to Patagonia!

Fantastic outfit and you get a lot for your money!

Mazatlan Motorcycle Adventures

Mazatlan Motorcycle Adventures -- Canadian guy, Gord Bennett, runs the show. Mostly rents Honda NX-400's with 80/20 tires -- sort of a light adventure bike (very light). Reliable fellow and flexible enough to plan whatever kind of tour you want out of Mazatlan. Stocks helmets if you have an easy-to-fit head. The rest of your gear you need to provide.

We had one rider get-off on my trip resulting in a fairly serious injury (lacerated arm--to the bone). Gord handled the 1st aid duties nicely and got the whole group to the nearest medical clinic without much fuss. The rider got stitched up and we made it back to our hotel by dark.

Pic of me somewhere near Panuco. I brought a mesh jacket with me and some summer gloves.

Paradise Motorcycle Tours (New Zealand) - www.paradisemotorcycletours.co.nz They run tours but I only hired a bike from them and traveled on my own.

I will let you know who I end up going with on my upcoming trip to Ireland

Find some locals

Something your friends might want to consider, depending on where they’re headed, is looking up locals. Sometimes the best routes – or the best guides – can be found just by talking to the people who live and ride in the area.

That’s something I had trouble doing on a few vacations (though when I managed to get in touch, it was always awesome)… hence the Rider Locator.

It all depends on what kind of experience they’re looking for, but the tool includes five search criteria to help them find what they want: riding interests, riding skill, mechanical skill, location and local area knowledge. You can see a quick demonstration here.

Good info, thanks!

Who else has been on a moto-tour that they'd like to tell us about?

I went on a 4 day trip with www.mototourscostarica.com
Two great guys from Virginia run the show and live ther 10 months of the year. Only use fresh 2008 and newer KTM 450 EXC's and have some of the greatest riding I have ever done. These guys are ex VCHSS hare scramble champions and can ride as fast or as slow as the group needs to. I have a bunch of pics posted up on my Facebook page.

Wicked

Be gentle - my first post!

I've been lurking around this site for sometime as I am keen to mark the big five oh with a dream trip. For me this would be to the end of the World - Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, Ushuaia (you get the picture) - so this thread is a great find and lured me out.

VancouverBob's link looks promising. Can I wait for a ride report ? Nope ! So I'll lurk a bit more in the hope so more recommendations come out.

Keep it up
