Hooking up the 3 PIN Repair plug for a relay, Where is the Plug?

OK I have read on the site about using the repair plug female harness (PN 83300413585) to use a a keyed relay power, problem is I can't find the male connector on the bike. Is it wrapped inside of the cloth tape they wrap the entire harness in? I am installing this on a '09GS did they change it for this model year? I have read posts on this site and even seen a couple of pictures, but I and several other people could not find the connector today on the bike! Why is it that the simple stuff is so hard?!

Are you talking the rep/ plug under the seat?

The big round one - sitting just under the seat near the back latch?

I might know what you are talking about.

About as big as an old film canister.

No I know what you are talking about. That is the diagnostic port. From the posts I read before I am looking for the plug to install the BMW GPS. It should be somewhere near the steering head, but I can not find it even after pulling the tank back.

Ihave a 09 GSA. It is in the bundle of wires in front of the steering head down towards the bottom. It is wiretied in 2 spots. Reach above the front fender in the center you will find it.

Ok I think I found it. Seems to be tie wraped to the cross support for the beak just behind the oiler cooler. They may have repositioned it with all of the ESA stuff now directly in fornot of the steering head. I will cut that loose later today and make sure it is it. Thanks for the help.

Ohhhhh.

Yah they seem to be placed in different places - mine was right on the left side of the head-stock. Some like yours up on the beak towards the oil cooler... yes - tough to find.

I think maybe Klaus puts them on the beak, Uwe puts them on the steering column and Dieter puts them under the tank... and......

Depending on of course if it is Friday and then they all head down to Italy for a pizza break.

Could be, or maybe it depends on the model year and when the bike was manufactured.
