Alone in the Arizona Desert
Come along with me...
  ...as I re-live four days of riding in Western Arizona on the first weekend of Spring 2010.  I know what you're thinking.  Western Arizona?!? Isn't it dry?...   ...Sandy?...   ...Brown and Colorless?...    A loner in the desert alone takes time to smell the wildflowers (and shoot a few photos). Let's hit the trail.

Day 1, Escaping Phoenix
I race home from work Friday afternoon and toss the last bit of supplies in the panniers.
 I super-slab it out of town.  ...andhead West on the 74.   Wildflowers and cacti line my path. It's a beautiful day for riding. (Aren't they all? )  Hello! Dave here again.   I continue to race along on Highway 60 through the farmland of the Aguila Valley.  I turn South from Salome onto the Harquahala Road.     As sunset nears, I find a scenic spot in the mountains along the desolate road and kill the engine. Not a lot of miles, but I plan to take it easy this trip.  I pull out the big camera and take a walk.

End of Day 1
 I'm making myself at home when I spot something behind a nearby pile of brush.  Hmmmm...  No sleepwalking tonight.    My dinner consists of Jet-Boiled Chunky Soup and Crackers.  I sleep under the stars and keep the fire going most of the night.  Tomorrow I explore KOFA.

I love the vibrancy of the color in your shots. I also like the sleep under the stars aspect as though a cowboy with horse beside the fire. Excellent way to live life.
