Yeah....Glen Rose on Hwy 67 next to the Exxon at 144 intersection.

The Hammond's in Glen Rose was bought several years ago from the orig owners. The Hammond family now runs Loco Coyote about 9 miles west of town. The food is still similar but there are some major differences in servings (Coyote = BIGGER but pricier too). +++ the pies at Glen Rose Hammonds only.....Both places have outstanding cobblers.

However...I might also add that...I HAVE had a couple of SO SO BBQ plates at times there too. ...More good times than bad though DEFINATELY
right, at $17.95 for a plate and pie(smallish portions I might add) I need more than SO SO.
I had the pecan pie that was also SO SO , Rods pie was awesome. I had a bite

portions was 2 skinny ribs, tasty, but very tough on one end, way over cooked, two very thin slices of Ham and one small piece of eckrich sausage half burned.

But the ride was awesome, and thats what counts most.

There is some sweet riding in the Glen Rose area!

I agree with mr2mch on the sauce issue. Often it overwhelms the meat favor. I tend to like the Q places with the thinner sauces that compliments the meat instead of the thicker sauces that cover it up.

I stopped at a Q joint on the east side of Glen Rose last spring. It was decorated in barn wood and hot waitress's. Is this Hammonds? The ridding gets good from Glen Rose all the way west to the sisters....and beyond. Dahveed, I've been following your latest adventure since the big crash. I'm happy to see your getting your appetite back.

Kinda sounds like Hammonds.....They usually have high school hotties (& college) in shorts taking orders/serving....picnic tables inside & lots o old signs/tools...etc.

True! I'm longing for MY favorite BBQ - a beef short rib, 2 slices of brisket, and maybe something else (Yup, another $20 pile of meat) from Louie Mueller's in Taylor TX. With a simple salt and pepper rub on the beef and a thin beefy tasting sauce - well I love it.

The place east of Glen Rose is called Ranch House. Excellent BBQ and the pretty lady in shorts is the owner and her name is Rocky. Tell her you know Donovan(FotoTex) as she is a friend of ours.

If its across the street from the fairground its the Ranch House. There was a older gal there that looked good in some Daisy Dukes. They had a goat ropeing thingy going on when I went through in April. I wonder what BBQ goat taste like? There aint no way I'm going to name drop someone from this forum! You think I go looking for trouble?

Best Q near Austin or San Antonio

I am going to be in Austin and San Antonio on business in Feb. Anyone got a good suggestion for the best Q in that area?

We have an OK Q place here in Nederland but I won't say the Q brings people back. The guy who runs it brews the best beer in the world. On top of that they are some damn nice people.

Thanks
Ron
