I have had many motorcycle dreams but no electric shock treatment yet. I think some cream corn and brisket at Rudys will bring me out of my funk.

Shep's BBQ in Palestine

Only place I kno of even remotely close to your route north.

Shep's BBQ NE side of Palestine..just inside Loop 256 on 79 I think.

Bunches of Highway Patrol & Sheriffs cars out front can't be wrong.
Get the special....

I stopped at a joint just off of I-30 west of Texarkana. I don't remember the name but do remember the exit., 162A and it was on the north side of the highway. I thought the Q was good but then I like all BBQ. They did have something unusual on the menu, whole wheat bread. I'm not a big fan of white so wheat was a treat.

I remember SOG and I ate at one west of Texarkana on the south side of I 30 and it was not so hot. Tasted like they microwaved some frozen BBQ and the through some Kraft BBQ sauce on it. I believe I rated it. Would be January or February of last year.

There is a new place in Stephenville down the street from Hard 8. Its at the NWC of 281 and 377, set back a bit. I didn't see the name. Anyone tried or know anything about it ?

R & R BBQ....in Stephenville? 281 @ Bus 377

Pizza.... Does this sound like the place? Wood front with a big yellow Railroad crossing type sign R & R BBQ over a porch with benches....

Just looked it up on Google....Never been there. Owner's name is Rod...so it must be good. ?huh

UPDATE: 8-22... Went there today... Had the 3 meat plate $9.75 (well...in a basket)
Ribs were average size with very good flavor...no sauce needed.
Brisket was moist & tender but didn't have a lot of smoky flavor (electric smoker?)
jalepeno sausage very good flavor & not dry
sauce...nice spicy...not too thick & heavy
tater salad...mustard...but not heavy on such....tasty
beans...good flavor & with some juice.... Cornbread ta boot...ever so slightly sweet
coconut merangue pie.....EXCELLENT @ $2.75 ...but not as big a slice as Hammonds ($4.75)

I'd go back

IIRC there's a hole in the wall meat market on the main drag there. They serve up a great breakfast. I think the building was red?
