The rest of the bike is made 99.9% German fabricated parts. With the exception of a very few minor plastics made in Korea or Thailand or China, all BMW's are made and assembled at the Berlin factory in Germany.

We went through this whole thing in a long and heated thread over a year and a half ago.

PS I still think we need a new name for GSpot. Something like BMW Boxers or something. Make the other one BMW Parallel Twins.

Of course, I was kidding.

Ok so I think there's been a great lot of ideas put forth, I really like something along the lines of "F'n Twins, a parallel universe"

But let's just go ahead and make it happen so we know we weren't getting April fooled (I mean really, there's no reason for it to be a joke, it would only make good sense and there's no reason that I can think of to NOT grant us our own since the F Twins probably take up an annoying amount of threads for those entering beasts that care to see something other than the twins).

Or just let the Great ADVRider Ceiling Cat put a poll of his 4 favorites up for one week and the poll winner takes the name cake.

Why aren't the sub-forums simply brand specific, regardless of model?
It seems to be the norm and work well for many other vehicle related forums.
I think it reduce the amount of bickering over brand loyalty and such.

Name for the new forum

A Austrian engine in a German bike, how about the "Anschluss twins"?

I say, "Me too! Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879 or Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?"
He says, "Northern Conservative Fundamentalist Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912."
I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over!

Thanks!

I would like to express my appreciation for this modification. I realize that given what I pay for this service (nothing but a few stickers now and then), I have no right to crab about any decisions made. But it's nice to see that you folks took the comments made about setting up a seperate group seriously.

Well done.

Now, you have to change the sub-title of beasts again....

FYI - I get the Parallel Universe threads pop up when you hit the JM link on the top nav bar (how I found this thread).

…and I propose….

..combining ‘GS’ with ‘Twin’…and coming-up with a word what we all engage in, in all possible senses, both here as while on the saddle…
