Since I seem to have way more free time than Dave, I took the liberty of resizing these....also I wanted to see them

more to come...wanted to see if they are working.

Thanks Father x I really appreciate it. Ill try to fix them next time I get to the computer. They were all fine until I payed for photobucket. The pics after I paid are all coming up HUGE. I'm not sure how to fix it on photobucket, bit I'll try next time I'm on a computer.

SC... probably in the next month. NY... probably mid to late July.

Shooter......How are you liking the Scott's steering stabilizer on the highway? I have one too it works well offroad but I can't get rid of the steering buffeting on the hiway. Do you remember your settings?

Houston host ShooterDave

Well he made it to Houston! Us locals arranged a dinner for the lad at The Salt Grass Steak House. Todd2 and linda pitched in a new/used front tire and larry77084 donated a place to stay and tools for tire change and maint. to the bike. He will need a rear soon as well.

Here he is, The One, the only, Super Dave himself and his mighty XRL in H town:

Everyone looking at Linda and Todds photo book of thier Alaska DS trip. Pretty cool ride they did on KLR's.

This is th only group photo that turned out any good. All your missing is Fred who had to leave early and me. No big loss me not in pic:

L to R, Buddy, Super Dave, Linda, Larry, and Todd. I10 in the backround.

Dave is currently at Larrys and Todd is due to come over and help work on the bike. They will get his butt all powdered up and send him on his way.

Dave's gone, changed the tire, adjusted the valves, washed clothes, took a shower and now he's headed for Galveston With Todd2, then off to ride along, what's left of, the Bolivar Peninsula, plans were to ride down towards Camron, LA.

">

So off he went, with "8 Ball" valve caps and a "Buckey's" sticker (Nancy's contribution) on his front fender.

Man.. I found this thread a day too late! We would have happily put you up at our place near Lubbock, but it looks like you had a great time with some great people anyway. Isn't ADV great? I'm subscribing - awesome adventure so far! If you happen to cut back across northwest Texas at some point on the trip, you are welcome to stay with us!

We slabbed it down to Galveston (sorry about that Dave), gassed up and had a leisurely seafood lunch at The Spot on the seawall. However, since Dave isn't too fond of seafood, he just had another ole burger , but my mudbug po'boy was great! I spent far too much time at lunch telling stories, so it was well into the afternoon by the time we took off along the seawall. They were only running one ferry at Boliver, so we had to wait a bit, but not too bad, and besides, it was a nice cool day. The Boliver Peninsula got hit hard by Ike. Still a lot of damage to be seen, but they're slowly rebuilding. Crystal Beach is essentially gone. Dave probably never even new it was there (I sure do like my bike-to-bike radios, but couldn't narrate for Dave at all). Then, where the road is no more (except on the maps) we headed inland. Dave was concerned about me getting home before dark, so we bid our farewells in Winnie; he stopped off at the DQ and I superslabbed it all the way back at 75 MPH (well before dark)!

Hope you made it to wherever you had no plans to be, Dave (must be nice). Travel safely and keep on posting!

Todd

P.S. Nice meeting all you other inmates, too.

just got off the phone with David

He's in good spirits...no shit eh?....miles of open road, an XRL and no stress

He's hoping to get to Arkansas tonight.

All is well and aside from a few insect massacres all is safe

RIDE ON ShooterD!

btw...if anyone has a rear tire hanging around in or near his path let me know and we can coordinate getting it to him? He didn't ask I just think it would be a cool thing to do. I have a new one once he gets to Ohio, that will give him 3-4k miles.

hope you don't mind me big brothering you D
