F650/800GS modifications thread

Like the vast majority of the owners of this great bike, I love my F800gs and i'm planning on keeping it as long as possible. It's not perfect so i'm making some changes and inspiration from others is always welcome. Today I made a top-box plate and mounted my own box. The BMW ones are too small for me and while the one I have is nasty it's practical and hold all the junk I need to transport around town. I made the plate from aluminium sheet, cut down and slotted to take my box. The only problem was getting spacers machined up but my dad's an engineer so that was easy enough. Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to mount my sat-nav somewhere on the left of the dash. I'm also planning to make some side panels and my own luggage rack to mount decent (cheap) luggage for touring.
Looking forward to seeing what others have done to theirs.

I removed my windscreen and speedo cluster and traced out the holes and shape for a platform for my battery load monitor and LED voltmeter. I traced it out on a plate of aluminum and attacked it with a jigsaw, drill, and some files. Plus, there's some extra space if I find some other neato thing to stick on there.

Sadly, I left the pattern in Texas.
