![]() ![]() Just back from a three day pre-rally event with 700+ km of hard (sometimes harder) riding. We were three 690 and two crf´s (amongs others) and no 690 missed a beat, but one crf became a "trailer queen".... ![]() Now, we don´t want this thread to Jo Mama, do we?

KTMs look good, but as an overland bike, they are too fragile! It'll be an XT660Z Tenere if i ever get back to my roost,a bit heavier, and a little less power, but it'll go the distance! :) |

The KTM 690 is the answer. Smooth, powerful and light. No better big bore single on the planet for any purpose.

So it's been awhile and I have not done much, but what have done is ico unit and switches custom suade rally seat and yesteday i replaced my 275mm shock with a 285mm travel modded shock
And just ordered the 2012 rally tanks and seat , I have Evil invader to thank for doing what I should have done in the first place , probly would have saved a bunch of money as well. Almost forgot I dropped a bolt in the rear tank spent 4hours tring to get it out without success ,let's call it a emergency spare. |

Try strong magnet (neodymium), I get them from old hard disk, tape it to the stick or wire and I had great success retrieving bolts from weird places.

Took the 690 out for blast this morning on 160km loop of dirt road , the new Shock is sweet . Now that it sits higher in the stroke it feels really plush. I have not touched the clickers yet so I should be able to get it better I hope .
