Awe man, I'd love to - but the economy is forcing me to maintain my 9-5 M-F job. If my status changes, I'll let ya know.

Trails are everywhere, various degrees of legality though. From 100% legal to "that old man will shoot you rock salt if he sees you, careful" legal.

If you have a plate on your bike, Pachaug is your best bet. PM me if you want me to give you a Pachaug tour someday, takes about 3-4 hours.

Most that I know of in Central CT. Hartford County are illegal.
You can ride in Burlington in Neapauq forest with a plated bike.(watch out for fast moving trucks. In Glastonbury (watch out for guys shooting high powered rifles) you can ride trails in a state forest, both during daylight hours only. (comments) are from my own experiences.

I may take you up on the Pachaug trail ride sometime.I read the thread and know it's good to be on those trails with someone that knows them well.I have to regear my DRZ and get my Trailwings off.I have a set of M-21s to replace them.I've been having fun wearing out the Trailwings on the road, and they are not that bad,as I have read, off road as long as you keep it slow and avoid mud holes.

I'm usually down for a week day ride. I'm over outside of Waterbury. Got lots of stuff over this way too if you ever wanted to explore. Let me know next time you're going..

V84x4-There are plenty of trails right here in plainville and southington/bristol. The ones i go on are "not legal". I say that because they are not overtly illegal, there are no signs saying no trespassing and there are no "guards".

Chophawk-Sounds good, whats holding you up from registering? Trouble with the dmv? Mornings are good!

CousinLarry-I'm going up to willington now to get my debit card, forgot it at a bar.

I'll probably go for a little ride when i get back up in the woods to the old NIKE base if anyone is interested. 1o'clock ish.

Most land in CT is privately owned or state/government owned.
I know of alot of trails without signs or "guards" ,it still does not give me the right to use the land without permission. And if I exit illegal trail and a LEO wants to give me a real hard time for being on that trail he has every right to do exactly that.
I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I sold my fast bike recently to have less negative experiences with LEO's.Now I ride a bike with 1/3 the HP and I have MANY 100% legal trails to ride on,some within 10 miles of my home and alot in Mass.

Never had a problem with LEO's in the trails i've been in, probably has alot to do with me riding during the week when there are not as many of them or people walking in the woods. Also my bikes not very loud(xr250r stock) and i try to be considerate of the people i do run across. If i did indeed get caught i believe all i would be charged with would be simple trespass. I guess it's a risk i'm willing to take for the hours of enjoyment i get riding.
