If we don't do the Pachaug loop this weekend maybe I'll pop up your way and follow you around.

Taking the kid kayaking one day so not sure which day I will have open yet.

If it wasn't for all the rocks, roots, trees, hills, mud, ruts, logs, sand, and lack of tar, I'd be a damn good off-road rider!

Sounds good. I haven't decided which day yet either. Have you been to Thomaston Dam yet?

I know it's a little late in posting but didn't think the weather would hold. Going to cart the bike up to Thomaston sometime after noon to play around there for a few hours.

I ended up at the dam with Cusinlarry after a 30 mi. adventure-cross ride to get there. It's muddy, my bike was pretty clean till I did that loop. There was a photographer taking pictures. I got "Snapped" see them here PhotoReflect - YOUSNAPPED - Afternoon at Thomaston Dam - Dirt Bikes! some of the last pics are me. Thanks Chris!

Damn Happy, wish I knew.

I unloaded the bike just as the storm hit and it got slick fast. I thought the upper trails were slippery then I got down to the section where that guy was taking pictures of Adam the day before...all I can say is imagine me sliding along about 20 mph head first through a patch of nettles, bike somewhere beside me sliding down the muddy trail. Luckily it was still raining so the itching didn't last very long. Love that section in the rain!!

It was slow going most of the day and needless to say I took more spills than usual. The trails started drying up and actually became nice to ride on about the time I left: right after I tried to scale this rock.

I didn't get enough momentum and got myself hung up on the frame.

It was getting late and I was too tired to give another shot. Maybe next time.
