we bought 4 sets through MTR...Rob is a really solid guy...Fire Fighter by trade...all ready have two sets to mount in about 2 weeks for the big 1 month trip in July...second 2 sets due in end of June beginning of July I think Rob said...he is putting the other 2 sets aside for us for when we get back.

It's not expected until mid/late June.

I've given up on Heidenaus for my 800GS. I'm gonna stick with TKCs for the time being. At least I can get those. And in the right sizes.

I just ordered a TKC 80 rear from motorcycle-superstore.com for 168.00 delievered. Not too bad of a price.

And it is a 150/70.

swmototires.com has the rear for a little less. Chaparral has a nice price on the front.

The TKCs aren't the most expensive tire around, but they're not cheap. And I get half the life out of a rear that I do from regular street tires.

But then, real knobbies probably last about 1/3 that of a TKC...

I can't believe I actually scored one of these.

Somebody else called right when I was placing the order, but they were just a few seconds too late.

I was just waiting for UPS to drop off a TKC 80 rear while I waited for moto amore to get their next shipment of K60s in.

I guess I'll be selling a new TKC 80 rear soon.

Thanks for the heads-up John. Dave said you were quite surprised to see the Heidenaus in his shop today. I think he said your words were, "holy sh**."

I might have had a similar response in your situation.

I've got a couple of 140's in the garage. I may never need them, but bought a couple anyway.
I like the K-60's, but generally stick w/ the 606 front and rear.

I'm commuting to work daily off-road, but I'm also on the road quite a bit up here in the mountains as well.

I need a tire that can handle the twisties here in the mountains and not disintegrate after a few thousand miles and also be aggressive enough for all the mining trails/forest service roads/ and rocky jeep trails here in the mountains as well.

I'm hoping I'll find that balance in the K60s.
