Anyone else had this problem?

Yeap, zip-tied it.

Today marks the end of the black painted plastic nightmare I inherited when I purchased my SE. New plastics and I was able to salvage and reused the pristine side panels stickers (saved over $100 with that effort and those funds will be better spent at Black Dog next month). Tomorrow night, the 690E windscreen goes on. Yes, I'll clean up the shop this weekend. Nothing exciting for ya'll, but it excites me:

For those that might be considering painting plastic, a few words of advice: Not unlike an office romance, it may look like a good idea to do, but it always turns out ugly in the long run.

Went for a little bimble out Highland to Corralitos and back to Summit. Stopped to make some pictures and found a little hill and stream to play in. Rear knobby is not very knobbly and I ran out of traction quickly. Silliness...

Was gonna go work on it (vest controller, BDCW sidestand relocator, oil & coolant change, etc) but it's 8*F and the garage is unheated....
So I'm watching riding videos, reading moto magazines, and wishing I could ride.

Been considering that or wood stove. Need to finish taping and painting the interior and insulate the roof. WTH, only been ten years. I'll get around to it sooner or later.

Heh heh- I'm in cashmere for the holidays, with family- having the normal withdrawl pangs from my KTM, but I'm not tempted to ride here this week, and it's almost too cold to enjoy skiing until you get warmed up.
On the other hand, the roads are dry. . . . .
