My wife took this, I think, to show the grandkids what an idjit there grandpa used to be, when he was young.

Noise-beating system

Not today, but some time in the past:

It was a system to break the vacuum pocket behind the screen, that vacuum pocket is the cause of buffeting and noise.
I worked quite well, I was able to hear my Akros up to 55mph.

Front intake behind grill

left outlet behind windscreen

Right outlet behind windscreen

central outlet in the middle,

the intake behind the front grill where it fed air to those tubes which came up behind the windscreen to these "ears" along with another outlet at the bottom of the dashboard.

As you see I had great time with my 950

Well, I tried to do this as well today with my gen 2 on my '10 ADV R. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the rear hole in the crashbar on the left side seems to be too short...won't get even close to the frame where the frame clamp is...like by an inch or so. And I have to press up on the right bar in the rear to get it close to the frame clamp hole. I'm not sure but I thought these were suppose to fit? Am I doing something wrong, missing something or is a call to twisted throttle in order?

Thanks!

good set up. My friend mark who runs www.sierranevadaadventures.com runs that exact same set up on his 07 KTM 990 Adventure. I am following his lead on that. When most of the crew went down on Lost Coast in the mud his tires stuck like glue. He said the manufacture is saying that you can get 7000 miles out of them.

Re-assembly

Putting the 950 back together after checking the valve clearance. Flushed coolent, RR thermostat, rad cap,oil press sensor, spark plugs. Leak check revealed carb fuel fittings leaking bad. O-rings bad. gave up for the night.

new rubber

Well, went out to ride to work today and noticed a flat on the bike. I put some air to it and could hear the air escaping. When I got home I decided to put the new rubber on, even though I still had about 1000 miles left to the old tire. call me lazy but I prefer to change tires only once a year.

Today I put new sneakers on my ride.

Camera Pedestal

I decided to make myself a camera pedestal for my Adventure 990R, a little crude but effective . All the parts cost about 10 bucks.

I made it so the tower can easily be changed out for different size heights.

And the camera has full swivel motion
