Okay, okay, okay... if someone would just send me some short CJ peg extensions (orange would be nice) and let me try them, I'd be happy to weigh in here and possibly change my opinion.

MAJOR PREP for next ride: Fresh air filter, wiped down with Honda polish, filled tires to 30psi, started up and ran, checked for leaks/loose bolts, shoved back in the storage shed for the next ride…..

Pretty much standard procedure for a 300…….

Went for a booger around the neighborhood with Muffin Man.

Had the right tank off as we're chasing an electrical gremlin.

Sure was nice to get some seat time

Muffin Man wears one of those cool "air bag" vests when he rides.

It takes all of my will power to not try and reach over and yank the tether when we're going down the road

Makes it easier to change the pre-filter skin while you are riding

It's all about the weight savings, you can drop a lot of weight if you only have one gas tank

Alley Sweeper ride in Portland

Took the 990 ADV out for the annual Alley Sweeper ride. About 250 riders on all kinds of iron, 60s-70s 2 strokes, old XRs, DRZs, CT 70s, BSA bobber, you name is somebody was riding it. Lots of challenges with overgrown brush, black berry brambles, old cars, yard debris, bark dust and people treating it like it is an extension of their yard rather than a public through fare. Most people are cool but a few get a bit excited. Plenty of urban enduro adventure. The 990 is a bit much for this but What the hell....

skiped the Alley sweeper "enduro" and rode out to Browns camp OHV riding area and confused a bunch of 2 smokers It was the first real dirt riding I have had a chance to do, as yo might imagine we are both very happy. My riding buddy was on a Strom with tourace tires, I let him ride the 990, now when he looks at my bike I feel uncomfortable .

Damn these bikes rock.

I am planning on mounting a fuel bottle to my garage ceiling with an 8 foot hose so I can run the bike with no tanks for testing purposes
