Thanks for that. Busted on the ride home issue, but I was out of town on business and snagged it on the way home. Plus... my fave dealer is about an hour and a half out of Calgary and it was threatening to snow, so took the easy out. I hear you on the fender - already sitting on the bench.

i installed a after market air filter from ktmtwins and tried to install a pre filter but I think it was supposed to come with a snorkel which I didnt get and it says to drench it with oil and ring it out... but i dont know what kind of oil to use for filter or where to get it.

Switzerland Trail

The weather was just too nice to stay at the laptop working... so I headed on up to Boulder Canyon and Switzerland Trail.

Only went up as far as Four Mile Canyon Rd...

Got my new front DID hoop laced up to my stock hub & spokes.

..... and mounted up my new Conti Trail Attacks! Using Dyna Beads to balance the wheels.

You are going to love the Attacks on the road, and they are ok on gravel. Stay out of the mud with them

Finally, replaced the gear switch O-ring. It was beginning to hemorage pretty badly.

Also threw a couple of DOT knobs on the DRZ, and am feeling the pain. But that's for the other forum.

Got a little electrical work done today. Installed a RAM mount to move the GPS from the bars to the dash and installed a USB power port to keep it powered.

I busted my GPS mount holder today, it was rather annoying. I use the Touratech locking mount (which held together fine) but that locking assembly then attaches to the little round bar that was specifically made to work on the newer KTM 990s with the centered hump on the dash. Aside from having the GPS suddenly swinging around by its cable as it scarred up the face of my odo/tach unit, my worry is buying a replacement will likely do the same thing all over again.

Time to redesign it... or stay lost.

Ironically, I just bought a SPOT and mounted that up last night on the bar end with a RAM mount. So at least someone else could still come find me.

I did the same thing today. The filter is pre oiled even thou it does say to oil it - I didnt bother seeing how #1 is was oiled from the factory #2 it is a pre filter and pretty small, dont want to suffocate the the the main filter.
There is no "snorkel" to mount it. You pull the snorkel from the box and replace it with the pre filter- and yes it is a real bitch to get the pre filter mounted up. Not sure what exactly the small "valve" is that sits in the way of mounting the pre-filter , but I moved that ahead of the frame out of the way and the pre-filter did snap in place.

I tried to install my Rox risers today. Unfortunately, the throttle cable is too short on my 2003 adv I have to get a longer one. Does anyone know if the other cables also need to be extended?

Got my bike out for a little ride yesterday. Worked on it most of Saturday morning, and headed out for a little evening ride:

Untitled

New Remus exhaust

She's ready to rip for the summer...almost

List of things I did yeseterday:

New 908 rear
Swapped in 2011 Dakar seat
Remus single sided exhaust (had CJ do the mid pipe)
CJ Designs expedition box
New front right blinker
New right rear fairing
New chain and sprockets (went to 16/45)

Still need to do:

Water pump rebuild
Play with various fuel maps with the new exhaust

I gotta say, I love the sound of the Remus. I was nursing a chubby for hours after that first blast down the on ramp on to the highway.

Flip the throttle over so the cables are on the bottom.
