Found possible misfire culprit: ignition coil on front cylinder didnt seem quite seated properly ? anyone else encountered this ?

Yes, did the same thing on my first service.

Very first thing anyone should check when having running issues. Glad it was a cheap fix.

hey cj, still wont sit quite as snug as the rear coil. i havn't run her again yet but im hoping that was in fact the issue. makes sense. the only worrying thing is it seems to work its way out on its own as its been fine for 3k miles

I should have posted this first...the before.

Kind of like one of those hair plug commercials...in the Before picture 950 with a frown (Pirelli Scorpions).
In the After picture 950 is smiling (TKC's).

Ebay and the quality is really really good. They come in several colors. Just search KTM decals, Buy it now, US Only and you should see them. If not let me know and I will get the actual seller name for ya.

What, if any, prep did you do to your Safaris before laying down those decals?

They take the decals well, just a good windex wipe clean and dry first. I had a Touratech 40 Liter tank on my 95 GS and same deal, as long as it's a quality decal you are good to go. Plus mine sits out in the sun and rain daily. Painting though is a bit of an ordeal.
