Mr. Lopez

Be sure to pack your Cutters insect repellant. The mosquito's are horrendous this time of year on the North Slope. They can actually smother young Caribou by gathering on their nose and blocking the nostrils. I recommend you pack a head net in case you need to repair your bike outside. Over the years I have spent several months there flying helicopters in support of the oil business. Neat to see and not bad if you dress for it. Have fun!!!

I look forward to following you on this trip. I just bought a 2008 KTM 990 and friends of mine from Denver are in Alaska right now. I hope to meet them somewhere on the return trip! You can see their RR here... Have fun!

Getting the bike prepped for RMAR with my band of motorcycle maintenance ninjas. They only require large quanities of "Kool-Aid" to keep 'em on track. Just picked to bike up used about two weeks ago. We are installing the black dog Side plate and side stand relocator. Gotta get the oil changed, and spoon on some new tires.

Great team! Love the drinking of the cool-aid
The first oil change is an "experience".... tin foil funnels under both the sump plugs is the key

Gave her a bath for a good chunk of the day...

...then coasted her almost 4 miles to Durango, where I removed the sidestand elimnator module that failed 2 seconds after the above pic was taken. Plugged the original sidestand switch back in and all was well except that it was raining so hard that my "uphill" ear is still full of water from working under the bike.

Nice trip

Did the Pamplona to Andorra run a couple of years ago, great ride, stayed at a roadside inn at Jaca, great place, can't miss it - good tapas.
When are you leaving?
Have fun Rick
Cheers
Phil

- Why ??? There is nothing good about Andorra unless you want to do the dirt tracks on the way out.

Day 0

Packed up the bike today for a two week trip. Leaving tomorrow morning and heading northeast - shooting for Soldier Meadow to stay for tomorrow night. Two weeks with me, my bike, my tent, a passport, and hopefully some good luck.
