Please let us all know how this gets on!
My mate with his SMR is thinking of the same thing. Would it need a steering damper though - the SM range is pretty steep steering angle and twitchy?

http://www.fasterusa.com/ecommerce/supe ... ets/ktm950 I'm considering them for my SM-T. I plan on contacting them to verify fitment and to see if they can do the front with a 19" rim.

I rode it! It's been a pretty low-time season for me and the 9 Fiddy. Too many other things taking my time and when I want to ride it's too hot. But I rode to dinner for an Adv Rockies member meetup. It was nice to get back on it.
Doing valves, plugs, clutch bleed, and oil change next month.

Water pump rebuild
Thanks to CJ designs I've got a new water pump put in. It started going when I returned from Baja and she has been sitting all summer. I've still got to bolt up a few things and top off the fluids but she will be back on the trail by the weekend.

It all depends on what you want to use it for or rather what are you comparing it against. It is twitchy compared to an SE or some other enduro bike. On the other hand it's lower then the SE so it might be stabler in some places. Also Continental has the TKC in 120/90 which would increase the diameter making it more stable (theoretically) but it's not tubeless. But the steering damper would be nice but it's not like you couldn't ride without one. The Rims k1973 seem to be supermoto wheels for the Adventure. They aren't a direct bolt on for the SM. Been looking into this a LOT. Banke performance has made some and woodys were planning on making a set. Off to an inconvinient start with the TKCs. They spun on the rim a bit and now it's crooked. The right side of the rear tire is 5mm behind the left side and that's from riding 3 km and back to work.

Finally got round to fitting the HDB hand guards, a pal of mine who recently returned from the States had ordered the wrong top clamp, but it came in the post today
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Got my front wheel back from the builders too, so I now have two sets of wheels! ![]() Also got a cheap set of soft panniers from the Bay for my upcoming Morocco trip, just having a play with how to fasten them onto the racks and seeing how they fair with a tyre too, looking pretty good!
