Canisterectomy, SASectomy, FMF Q4s: Runs great, sounds better. Throttle response seems much improved, or is that just me cranking it up because it sounds so nice?
Installed new Acerbis handguards, a mild PITA. Barely clears the brake master cylinder so it's installed a little lower than I wanted. Had to move the clutch mount inwards so lever would clear, so it's either hack the lever shorter or find a shorter lever. Anybody got a source for stubby levers for the 990? 1911fan

Washed it.
Added some clutch oil. Adjusted all spring preloads, rebounce and compression to Sport mode. Fired it up, wheelied a bit Made a few feet of black rubber marking by the front wheel brake during fast stop training. Always good to know how much is just a bit too much

Mounted MEFO's....initial 100 mile ride was fantastic compared to the Skorp's. After three front Skorp's that wobbled I give up....I hope to never go back.

Started looking for an oil leak that developed recently. Pulled the upper fairings and tanks, degreased the front cylinder. I'll put the thing back together tomorrow, probably ride it Tuesday, then check and see if I can identify where the leak is. Could be the valve cover gasket (didn't change it at last valve adjust), but I suppose it could be one of the spark plug shaft O-rings or one of the seals on the valve cover bolts.
Looks like there's the beginnings of a small leak on the rear cylinder too, definitely from the gasket. Maybe I'll wash it after I find and fix the oil leak. G

Hmm, a found why the bike is running a temperature. The water pump seal went from OK to complete failure in about 100 miles. I think I may have cut the lip of the seal when I installed it only 5k miles ago.

Went and found some more mud. We both laid down in it but no damage. Then I hosed her off

Took the left tank and fuel pump off my 08 990 for the third time this month. I've been trying to cure the slow leak/weeping of fuel from the pump/tank interface. Tried different o-rings, stock and larger/smaller sizes but still no luck. This all started after replacing my burned out stock pump last summer. The new pump doesn't seem to mate to the tank surface as well.
I'm taking it back into the shop and see if KTM NA can help me, because I am out of ideas... Maybe I'll try a custom gasket between the pump and tank if they don't have any solution...

My $140 HID rally light
So I decided I dont like the stock headlight anymore, and decided to had a rally style race light and fairing. I just finished up the bracket for the light and need to start working on the fairing, but this is what I have so far. What do you guys think? So far I only have about $140 into the entire setup, including the light and the metal. (not counting welder usage & electricity, of course)
