Replaced the crappy hose clamps (worm type) with better quality Jubilee ones and that stopped the coolant leak from the SAMCO hoses. Put in fresh TOTAL Rubia SAE50 Diesel engine oil and a new stock airfilter as well. At the price KTM charges for a paper air filter i'm thinking of going for a re-usable one but concerned about the guaze/fabric mesh ones in my riding environment (desert - fine sand, frequent dust storms)

mounted a set of (louder) car horns through a relay for the India trip , changed the leaking oil tank dip stick O-ring (and bought a few spares from the local hardware shop), checked the clutch and stator bolts. Stator ones were plenty tight so left them alone. Clutch bolts were not so and had zero Loctite on them. Re-tightened them with some Loctite applied. Tried a few variations of the FI tune - its a revelation to be able to download a different mapping with a different engine response within 2 mins, do a 15 min reset and then go on a ride and my tunes are getting better with seat of the pants testing but I do plan to get a dyno tune done one day.

Fitted Charlie's sidestand relocator

made the sidestand adjustable for my 17" SD wheels. Still need to get the brake rotor adapters made for the SD wheels....

Migth be better to stick with the paper filter, unless you use a prefilter.

I removed my prefilter tho, I did not like it.

I brought this home...

took them out of the box...

Installed them, it went together much easier than I thought, and ended up with this...

Then rode it here to break in the system.

After the wings exhaust, I had a stumble around 4500rpm.

Got rid of the SAS crap, changed oil and jetted the carb.

Then a test ride

i have to say, you have good taste my friend. tickled pink with mine. lost 10lbs of weight, opened up the system, and makes the bike rev up faster. plus the sound is just to die for!

did you get them from rotaryracer? (Jason at ADV Motorrad)

he did me a pretty good deal but looks like he is offering almost the same for most.

Played with the EFI some to further smooth the throttle response. Not sure if I'm happy with it yet. Put in the PowerTrips Wings map and I've stalled it twice setting off from a stop... ? I can't remember the last time I stalled a bike starting off, haha! I am going to upload the powertrips Akra map and pull the db killers out and see if it solves that part. I did, however, notice a MUCH smoother power response. The snatchiness isn't gone, but it's very tiny now. Hopefully that Akra is roughly similar. I'm not worried about fuel mileage at the moment, just want to get the beast tamed. I'm off to Kookanoosa, B.C. for the weekend and the sandy trails will be begging me to flog the girl hard, ;)

Yes I did, his price was much lower than most. Great communication from him as well. Two thumbs up for Jason.

And the sound is awesome! I'm going to ride it as-is for a while, then I might try them with the spark arrestors to see how they sound. I doubt I'll run it open. I started the bike yesterday just to hear it idle...
