Chain guide fixing

Got the 6mm x 100mm stainless bolts in mail.

Pulled the upper and lower chain guide bolts. Ran this all the way down which caught at lower thread and I thought that I'd be drilling out the top thread then gave it a bit extra torque and it went through. Very German of them to so precisely line up the threads when it was unnecessary to production.

6mm lock nut and some red loctite and really shouldn't be coming undone at 100mph and jamming the front sprocket and back wheel solid.

carbon screen with bi-xenon projectors

Finished installing the carbon screen provided by Rade (thx Rade nice job).
I had two choices, to go for 2 bi-xenon projectors 1st pic, or go with a led fog light at top and a bi-xenon projector at the bottom 2nd pic.
Decided to go with the fog light.

Washed it...

Scraped off a couple thousand miles of filth from a dirt ride through the Medicine Bow with a mate (good times, perfect road) and to the Denver/Springs area.
Over the winter I added a Roundoz brand tooltube, shortened screen and bar riser bracket, Rigid LEDs, Morimoto projector headlight over/under with an Advmonster LED flood, and a high fender conversion. Also installed the 2012/13 R map...jury is still out on the latter.

Great looking bike Oz. I'm interested in your high fender Rigid bracket. I have mine on the crash bars but would prefer a mount which follows steering.

Sharp looking bike. Currently my favorite ADV graphics.

Which Morimoto projector did you end up with?

It's from Black Dog...great service, great products and a discount if you buy the Rigids from them. $80 otherwise. Fits nice...some high fenders like mine need a slight bit of plastic removal, but this is all described in the instructions.

Thanks BTW...this machine is my favorite bit of hardware of all time (I have owned a couple dozen bikes, mostly European). I wish I was half the rider that it deserves but I try to get it dirty rather than clean most of the time. It served me so well in the last few weeks I thought it deserved a couple hours of attention. I parked it on the grass to give the lawn a bit more topsoil...

I used the mini D2S bi-xenon

.....but I didn't mount it through the stock reflector...didn't see the point of keeping that piece of trash on the bike. I made a flat aluminum plate and bolted the projector to it, stealing ideas from this thread:

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=757704

I wish I had gone with a 50W instead of 35... I went small because of some heat concerns, especially with the LED light in the same housing. I have yet to see it's over temp switch cut it out, but honestly with the projector and the Rigids blasting away, I doubt that I would notice. I rode CO Hwy 71 north from Limon to Brush faaast the other night and those Rigids really turn night into day, so much so that the lowbeam seems a little lacking (tho it is a mile better than stock...obviously). I'm glad I put the wide beam LED in the mix...it fills in the ditches a little and I have shutoff switches on the HDB bracket for both it and the Rigids if the reflective signs get too annoying. My perfect setup would be 2 50W HID bi-xenons, the Rigids, and a pencil beam to get waaaay down the road.

In the spirit of this thread, PM me any questions about anything here...happy to share.
