been busy;

525- new clutch cover gasket, oil change, bled front brake, actually took it for a ride on sunday!

xr400- (Ok, know it's not orange) new fork oil, new fork boots, new brake fluid, new headlight mask, new throttle cables

990- new Mori bar risers. pretty happy so far. just rotated the bars a bit more forward and i will see what i think of that, but for anyone that doesn't need a lot of lift, cant beat these. only $20 from Chip.

laters,

laramie

Ktm 500 smr

got the bike picked up from Mr Tim Robel who did a fantastic job as usual!

-Adjusted the suspension as much as possible without a revalve (that will be my next visit)
-Fitted the Michelin Power One 160 :)
-14/47 Gearing
-Orange Non-O Ring Chain
-Shortened side stand
-Anodized and fitted Akrapovic slip-on

Cant rate him enough, the sort of guy who charges you for the work you ask for than lists off a bunch of other things he did along the way to clean it up and improve any potential issues arising at no charge..top man..if your in LA and you ride orange..you owe it to yourself to pay him a visit

First Dirt Nap

Dropped the 990 for the first time today on a gravel road today. Had it just over a week. Scratched the Orange crashbars and the hand gaurd and the mirror. Oh well.
Glad I got that over with. Now hopefully I won't be so nervous.

Good news:

My new 2012 990 was delivered today. 276 miles on the clock

Bad news:

ABS light remains on, and no speedo. Ground cable looks good, battery leads on tight, everything looks to be plugged in, so it goes to the shop tomorrow for what should be a new front sensor.

How is that Laminar Lip working for you? I don't love the looks, but I'm seriously thinking about getting one. How tall are you?

Took the Baffles out of the Akro's.....should have done it sooner, no louder but much deeper.

Tuned the suspension for a slightly firmer ride.

Went for a lap around the TT course with a pillion for the first time...great fun !

Starting my first valve check

I am taking my time. The stablemate's valve check has one or two fewer steps.

WSHOC, enjoy the little guy while you can, my wife and I took our youngest to college last week. Can't believe the nest is empty all ready. Seems just yesterday they were all rolling around in those little walker things.
