I love that place!

I've wanted to take my 990 up there, but always chicken out and go with the 450X. You've inspired me to give it a go.

changed oil+filters on 1190

owners manual for 1190 says 3.6 liters is what to put in.

3.6liters gets the sightglass at around 1/2 way

seems like you gotta put more like 4 liters to get sightglass reading closer to the top

what gives?

Got my G2 calmer throttle today. Took about five minutes to install. Short test ride at trials speed, and awesome!

Got my repair DVD as well.
Time to go test this thing out on dirt.

New tires

Well, I had the Kenda Big Blocks fitted yesterday. So far I've done about 60 miles on pavement. max speed of 65 and generally taking it slow until they are scrubbed. So far no squirrilyness and headshake like I had with new 908s. Lean into a corner is also very progressive due to the round profile of the 150 on the standard rim. I will take it on some dirt tomorrow and then come back via the highway to test higher speeds. I'll report back on the longevity, but I'm generally light on tires and if I get 4000 miles I'll be happy. 200 Bucks for the set.

Oh, wait. Don't know what they are or how much they cost.

Just a gut reaction.

Carry on.

Replaced the nearly-worn-out Scorpion Rally front tire with a nearly-new TKC 80. Prefer the Rally, but had the TKC sitting right here; may as well use it....

I really like your light conversion.

Did I miss your write up ?

Mounted some cheap Aux lights

Mounted them directly to the crash bars. Time will tell whether this was a good choice or not I guess haha

Thought I'd get fancy and mount the switch in the fairing. Turned out pretty well

Although I did discover that regular drill bits don't like a whole lot of lateral force while I was "milling" out the hole with a cordless drill
