I've rebuilt my right crash bar about 3x times. Added a small triangle gusset the last time and didn't need to do it again.

Pull off both crash bars and take to your local welder, he can compare the L/R and make them the same. Then have him add a 1" x 1" triangle gusset behind that little tube on each side. $50 - WAG.

Let there be light

Threw a PIAA h4 bulb in the US spec head light on my 990. Not lighting any butts off the lens but its definitely brighter than stock. Discovered there's plenty of flex in the fairing covers just removing the 3 top bolts, (have bars on it). Real easy.

Crash bars

Thanks for the ideas. A local welder sounds like the way to go if I decide to keep running them. They came with the bike, so I have never run it without them. After reading the Oso Loco Taco Tour ride report, though, I am tempted to roll without them.

Cheers LocuL look me up when you're around.

I also did the 15 min ECU reset last night....the bikes way better on the throttle but it's stalled 3 times during downshifts today??

Put on 16/45 gears on my 950. Holy crap! The bike is completely transformed. I just about melted my Pirelli Rally rear tire in second gear.

Wanna try that gearing, but only good for around town? How does she feel at 75/80mph now??

She had an exhaust leak & just kept running her
250mi of vibes on the header pipe...

freshened the heat shields.




Cleaned the oil jet.





Installed a new Clutch Slave.


Still lots to do over Winter.

Fuel Pump filter change

Pulled the fuel-pump to overhaul it.










The wire protectors had turned to jelly??? I had saved the ones from the last pump, they came in handy.








Ready to go back in.

If you ride it for a while like that your valves will burn out.

This could have happened because of loss pipe clamps or worn carbon fittings under the clamps.
