Got one of those waiting to go on my bike ASAP. And a trash can waiting for the EIGHT fecking fasteners I won't again need to remove every time I need to get into her guts.

So I installed it on the 990.
Nice.

Had sex with it.

Not really.

But I almost wanted to when she finally gave up this evil little nugget:

Full (and somewhat over-the-top) gory details of the shit-or-bust procedure here. But the long and short of it is this: check your clutch oil jet. If you don't have to remove the part to examine / clean it, then don't. But if you do think you might want / need to R&R it (e.g. going up in size to 0.5mm, as per the lovely CJDesigns piece I now have in there) at any point, just hope it's not anywhere near as stuck as mine was.

Cheers,

Michael

Well, My cold meds were in good nick as they say across the pond so I waddled out to the garage to get into trouble.
The Brown guy dropped a box at my door from KTM Twins.

I'd only ordered the stuff on Tuesday night.

A couple of wrenches and the RHS mirror re-location came. So I installed that and bled the clutch since I was already in the garage and fiddling with the bars. I had gone to all the trouble of finding my 8mm driver after all. Might as well use it a lot.
Clutch seems better.

Then as I was still feeling no affects of the flu I decided to pull a bit of mass off the big black beast. The result:

Thanks! Only the plug popped out, still doing a ton of mods to the bike, the KTM muffler is "ok" for now but eventually it'll be replaced too

Check out the motorcycle install guides at:

Theretrofitsource.com

Involves sticking it in an oven. Still tough but it worked for me.

Me too.

Found the white hand guards which came with the HDB setup which I moved to the new bike before selling the 990.

I hear ya, mate. As a one-man show at the moment, if I go anywhere on the bike, during the week, I need to lug the laptop and peripherals. Always in a US-20 or 30, unless it's a short hop, then gear goes in my R30 backpack.

Thanks for flying the Kriega flag!
