Nice post. I'm wondering how to the the pass pegs out of the bracket. I took a hammer to the post after removing the c clip, but it doesn't want to budge.

Took my little man on a Fathers Day ride! He is 6 and rides his own PW-50, but he still likes to ride around with Dad. Which is great in my book. He is still too small to ride behind me so he sits in front and hands on mine and legs on mine like he has since he was 3.

We live in a rural area and back roads and gravel is mostly what's here. Well we took the Long way to Walgreens to rent a movie. (Read about 30 mi.) once we got us a cold coke we suited up to ride back. He says...."Dad can we go find some more dirt roads, they much more fun"!

Man I love that kid!!

Thanks! I don't think he will. He loves the outdoors. I don't push him. Only take him when he asks and when he says he's tired we go in.

Changed out the water pump with a CJ Designs lifetime guarantee shaft. Noticed I was loosing coolant out of my overflow tank - no big deal right? Filled it a few times. During this year's Roaming Rally started hearing my valves - sounded like I was low on oil so I added a little. 500 miles later low oil pressure light came on at start up so I checked the oil. It was full but frothy. I should have paid closer attention when I was losing water.

One thing led to another and the bike is fully stripped down and will be receiving a full groom to include a 2-into-1 exhaust just because the stock mid pipe setup is a pain in the ass to change graphite seals on.

Not all today, but over the last couple weeks:

crash bar stud mod

fumoto oil drain valve

rottweiler "snap out"

got rid of all this crap

and replaced the one on the right with the one on the left

Also flushed the cooling system, changed the oil, replaced the battery, and most importantly washed it tonight. Now it's time to ride

Yesterday I starting tearing into the my 04 preparing to check the valves and give the bike a good, solid checkover. I have not taken the tanks off at all since I bought the bike a few weeks ago, so now is the time to open it up and look it over for any potential issues, as well as do some upgrades I want to do.

Thinking about installing a Rottweiler intake. Or a CRC. Or an ITG.... I dunno. What's the difference?

I'm kinda liking the SW7 solution. 'Haps that may be in the works. I also have to take care of aome things like the fuel pump and slave cylinder.... for another day.

Got the oil, filters and screens all changed. Then serviced the fuel pump.
Simple and quick.
Filter pleats are nice and straight, no water.
15,053 miles.

I ran the tanks down to about 145 miles just happened to work out that way.
I drained the left tank into the right tank using some spare hose. Only took a bit.
Then pulled the fuel pump and using CJ Designs kit, did the service. This is the old OEM stuff I took out.

Only hang up was the new big filter connector was too tight. A little reaming, flash removal work on it and nice snug fit.
Then I hosed off the bike.
