Confusion

Okay, I'm a little confused. Why does my great little bike receive insults while my rack receives compliments?

Hayduchess,

Methinks that it's because most of the sad sack asylum inmates around here know that you're the coolest granny-on-wheels that they might ever have a chance to meet!

They want to compliment you in some way so they try to win you over by eyeing your rack up and down and stammering out a few pleasantries.

In the end, though, they feel that putting down your DR somehow diminishes the remorse they have over investing too much time, money and emotion into bikes that are clearly inferior to yours!

Boys like things that move ,

and even though HD and I have 'gone all the way'

(to PB), I've never seen her rack.

This was the last race weekend at Tanacross- the weather cooperated and we all had a good time- only one bike fell over and only at low speed and without undue drama. I finally managed to run a 2:38 and am already eager for next year. The little 250 ran like a champ and never faltered or complained.

Of course, the fast guys look like this:

Wayne on his way to a new track record.

It was announced at the trophy meeting but I haven't seen it in print yet- something like a 2:24.5. Absolutely blistering. I'll post the correct number once they get the results from the weekend published. Keep in mind the record two years ago was 2:31.

All of the guys at the top of the open class were just flying. I think the top 6 were under 2:26. Speeds in the back straight are 155+, where my 'lill Aprilla 250 is wheezing along at a buck twenty or so. I tried to follow Wayne about while he was warming up and scrubbing in his tires and couldn't keep up. These guys know how to ride.

Tom S's secret is out.

Tom S has been working on his KTM, which is a sweet-looking bike that I have been drooling over. While Tom has good taste in bikes, I don't know about his taste in stylish gear. Although, you never know, women (or men) may be turned on by all the cutesy little rubber duckies adorning his outfit.

In case you can't read it, Tom's ducky on the front of his jacket says: Rub-a-dub dub, Tom and Ducky in the tub. How cute!

I'm not as adept as Tom is at doctoring photos, but I decided it was time to pay him back for having fun with photos of me.
