Thanks for the grab

I thought maybe I'd have to grab a different tag tomorrow . . . maybe I will anyway. Eastern Panhandle is at a ford. I like fords. (note little "f" in "ford" I don't really care either way about big "F" Fords.

Sorry about pushing Rudy that far into the guard rail. I thought he might be seen if he was closer to the end. There was a guy with a metal detector at the bridge when I was there. The little parking area seems to get used fairly frequently.

Leon.

Sadly, being new here, I haven't been able to get to far out of my immediate home range. But I know of some near gravel roads around where I live. So Rudy and I set off to see what we could see.

Rudy first wanted to see the Field of Blooms, but I said told him we haven't even got off the pavement yet! We ended up going to check out the Village Mill but soon got TRAPPEd.

But don't worry, you can get to Rudy's new chilling spot via pavement if you want - but the dirt roads are much more fun!

Here is the view on the way in via the pavement.

This bridge is at the corner of two roads. One road adds up to 16 and the other adds up to 14. There are some gorgeous views here of the hills but watch out for the horse trailers - they can make the gravel roads feel small.

To the left of the intersection - looking at the bridge.

The view looking back down the gravel road I came in on.

Looking back at the intersection from the bridge.

To the right of this, Rudy is in the rock wall by this Yellow POSTED sign. He is hiding behind a rock there that will hopefully keep him in place.
Now you see him...

Now you don't!

Grab. Trappe Rd at Millville Rd, Upperville.

And here's another pic with more bikes and more people.

The BMW was two up and while they will follow me down gravel roads, they do let me know about it later. I stayed on pavement today.

Leon.

Nice grab optical! Good to see the duck moving.

I would have made the grab last week but have been having starting issues with the bike...again.
Same damn problem that has plagued me "occasionally" for close to two years!

Tag. Mr B's BBQ.
See the blue flower pot at the right edge of the picture?

Rudy is under the blue flowerpot. It's a tight fit, but mallards are malleable.

Grab!
I saw this thread as I was heading back home. I pass this place on my way to summit point all the time!
I'll try to get pic up from my phone asap. Clue for the next tag: It may be a "Crooked" place, but there is a "Meadow in the Sky"

From Mr. B's. 6967 Lord Fairfax Highway Berryville, VA 22611 . Food wasn't too bad. Not great BBQ, but not bad at all.

Dewey was a little parched from being under the flower pot all day (I don't think they water them). So, when we got to the new location, he immediately wanted to go swimming in the nearby pond! I warned him to make it quick. The TURNERS don't like it when you go swimming in their POND. In the event he did go swimming, I helped him build a little nest so that he could stay warm and dry if he had to spend the night. You will see it in the last pic. As stated above, our little buddy is in a CROOKED place. It looks nice enough though. In this little valley, they have MEADOWS in the SKY.

Laugh New tag

On the western border of the tag boundry, about 67 miles from the last tag.... Take the same road from the recent tag (#1853) with the spring ( Road named after wild animal (canis lupus) and space in the mountains. From the state line head west about a mile until you see this:

shortly after the sign you will see a dirt forestry "road" to the left marked with a brown post:

Take this forestry road until the "road" splits and go to the LEFT to this:

Base of Right hand white post hides the duck.

Have fun!

If you go the right side at the split it eventually ends. great riding up there..both directions...ridden it on horseback before.

Slightly off topic, but I know you guys are reading this. Well I haven't been riding for a while, at least 6 months because of some medical issues. Missing you guys and the tags as well. Got out the bike for the first time Wednesday and although I got it to run, it started but when I turned off the choke it would die. I figure, ok, let it warm up a little more. Nope, no good. When I try to rev it up with the throttle it wants to die as well. Hopefully I'll get to look at it this weekend so I can go grab a tag or 2, but any ideas? The ducks are calling and I can't go. Oh yeah, 2011 KLR

Ok now....

This has set long enough....Bob...maybe you shouldn't have moved the boundary over the state line after all!

Rory....have you ever taken the carb off and cleaned it before? Sitting with corn syrup ( ethanol) in it will cause the problem...It may help to remove the carb and make sure it's not gummed up.. You could try a can of seafoam as well.

No, I should get another bike to grab tags on while this one gives me non-starting fits again. I was on my way to grab it the other day and the bike died on me coming to a stop. Finally got it started but don't feel comfortable riding with the bike acting like this. Part of the reason I wont be making it to CH-4.

RG, I'd go with what twohawks says regarding the carb...six months sitting almost guaranties a gummed up carb

No, the bike is too new for me to have cleaned it(yet). Should I go ahead and pull the carb and clean it, and is that a difficult process? Or just try the seafoam, of which I have a can sitting next to the bike right now?
