Weekends coming up! Should be a nice ride down to an area almost exactly between Culpeper & Harrisonburg to get this tag. ;)

3 weeks? That's what I get for trying to get the southern contingent an easy shot at the tag. :(

Whose going to go down for a rescue and bring him back to the NW where the action is? :)

LOL.

I'd help you out with that but as those who ride with me know, I rarely eat while out for a ride until the day is over (unless they ask me repeatedly "When we going to eat man?" :)

I am ashamed to admit there was an unsuccessful attempt to grab this here ducky yesterday. I blame my cheapie POS GPS for routing me from the wrong direction (not the one that the feds watch) which had a gate across the road, thus preventing me from completing the last short distance of the journey. Close but no cigar for the duck!

Ironically I was on the correct path originally, but turned around when my GPS showed that it would take far longer than they way IT wanted to go. When I got home and reviewed my failed trip on the map, it was clear I should have listened to my voices (as usual) rather than the electronic dealybob. Ahh well it was still a fun ride.

As fair warning, if no one makes the grab in the next 5 or 6 days I'll be making a second trip next weekend so as to redeem myself to... myself.

"A" for effort on making the grab!

I often seem to get the "which way do I go?" coin toss wrong. If I listen to the GPS it leads me astray. If I ignore the GPS and go with my gut I end up wishing I had listened to the dang GPS. LOL.

It's been sitting so long I could probably be convinced to come up with some GPS coordinates... But if it's in play we'll just let'r rock on. :)

I think it's definitely in play...very confident I know where it is. Just a bummer that the route had a nice yellow gate across the way. Oh, and some note from the authorities to the effect that they "apologize for the map error". I should have taken a picture of that.

But in terms of the point of the game, the trip was a success in that it led me to ride and discover some new territory. Which is what it's all about, yeah?

Nicely done! I think I did mention something about it being a wee bit overgrown in spots... LOL.

I still want to get back there at some point with something a bit more off-roadable to make a run back into the area beyond the tag.

Bad part is there is a lot of pavement between there and Star Tannery. :(
