I have to give credit where credit is due. If not for Old Man River I may not have found this one. He has been too busy to go grab it and kept telling me to go get it, sooo I just had to grab it!

Yep, theres Dewey

New tag.....................

See those logs behind the bike? They are some kind of makeshift bridge across the stonework entrance to a mill race.

Here is Dewey sitting on top of the structure.

And one of his hiding place.

I wedged him into the crack.
And a few more pics of the approximately 600'-700' long race heading downstream...

To this place. It's hard to tell in the pic but the race runs along the overgrown concrete wall down to the big building.

This part must have been made of wood but now all that is left is the abutments

And the front of the building

The 2.5 story stone & frame mill with attic was built by David Brown in 1788 to replace an earlier one built c. 1738 by Jost Hite.

When I first started surveying I could jump right into a poison ivy thicket and not get one little blister. Now that I'm older I will get some small patches but nothing like other people get. Still I don't press my luck...

Grab.....Springdale Road, (Route 649) just South and west of the intersection of Hwy 37 and Hwy 11 South of Winchester. The old Springdale Mill....interesting history on this place if you Google it.

That looks like the logs over the top of the race....about 100 yards or so down the road from the mill......

Yup there is Dewey......

and the old mill.....

New tag to follow shortly.....as soon as the pics upload.....great day for a ride....2 tags and about 175 miles.

Here is Dewey hiding behind a stone wall....

Now Dewey is covered up with a rock......

just behind this little stone wall......

And just behind the bike above the top box, you can see the stone wall that Dewey is hiding behind....

Clue: This road has 2 words. The first word shares its name with the first word of a Burt Reynolds movie in 1981 that had something to do with "Sea to shining sea". The second word is the last name , (singular), of the 2nd wealthiest man in the world.
