Bluhduh Page 3

Finally! Got to go for a little ride.
Almost gave up on getting the bike started though. It cranked and cranked and cranked...wouldn't start. Cranked so long, in spurts, the batery started to go...damn! Took the saddle bag off, unscrewed the bag rack, pulled the side panel and hooked a charger to it. Tried a few more times...looked at the petcock again...DOH! the gas was off! I looked at it before I started and thought the off position was on. That's what I get for not riding in two weeks. Started right up with a little gas!
Came in the back way off Red Gate rd. The whole road from where it turned to gravel down to the river was packed SAS(slick as sh..not) snow! I was skiing with my boots to keep from dropping the bike.
Came upon two folks out on horses. Stopped the bike and let them go past then got to this spot for the GRAB...Swift Shoals Rd rt. 622 just south of the rt 50 bridges over the mighty Shenandoah river...

You can just make out RD on top of the saddle bag above the muffler...

New tag in a few after I get my clues together.

New tag!

OK. I had to go with plan "B" because when I got to the first new tag spot my battery light was flashing on the camera and I forgot to bring the extra set. I placed Cody and Ranger duck together. They wanted to see how the other half live so they are hobnobbing with the rich and semi famous!

Notice the wall sticking up between the windscreen and the right rear view mirror?

If you walk up the road from the wall leaving the road you will see my foot prints in the snow. Follow them to the "other" wall and you will see this...

Move the snow and you will see these guys...

So they are hanging out at an old entrance to this large estate.

here's a little Bermuda triangle trivia about the owners of this estate.
Quote:
Audrey, and her husband, Stephen Currier, were presumed dead when a plane in which they were flying in the Caribbean disappeared on January 17, 1967, after requesting permission to fly over Culebra, a U. S. Navy installation. No trace of the plane, pilot, or passengers were ever found. Audrey and Stephen Currier left three children: Andrea, Lavinia, and Michael.
Lavina wrote and directed a 52 minute movie "heart of the garden" on this Estate.
I'll leave it at that for now.

Grab

Grab,

Hopewell Road, (Route 601), about 1.5 miles NW of The Plains. Old entrance to the Kinloch Estate....has not been used for a few decades. Would love to go back in there and scout around.....very interesting story about the family and history behind this place.

and now Cody and RD are off to a new spot....

new tag to follow shortly...soon as the pics upload.

New Tag

Tag,

There is RD in the hollow of that old stump.....

now covered up with leaves , sticks, and some snow....

The stump is right behind that green post.......

and the bike pic with the post...that would be posts to the left of the bike...also seems to be a sign just over the top box behind the bike. Had to kind of ski up and down this hill this morning so if you have street tires, you may want to go pretty slow in this particular stretch.

This should be my favorite Road!!!!

Clues: Lawn seed and fertilizer...road shares the name.

Cool2 Grab - Scotts Rd. just outside Marshall

This is one icy road! It was quite the treat getting back up the hill. I guess I should have waited until the ice turned to slush.

Another view.....

And our out of focus little buddy .... the duck was shivering ....

New tag in a few minutes!
Oh BTW .... Had to break out the K75 for this run. Forgot how much fun this bike is ... LOVE IT! The 1150R has brand new tires (not even a mile on them) and I thought it best to leave her at home today.

New Tag!

RD at the base of the forked tree....

And covered up with leaves and sticks ....

And a little further back ....

The correct tree is the one right off of my passenger seat with the two boards coming off to the left.

Another view looking back the way I came in.....

Clues:
The road RD is on has two words in its name. The first word (plural) is the same as the last name of a psychic that predicted the assassination of JFK. The second word is a place one would take his corn to be ground.
The locations is a ways in and at the top of a small knoll.

Yup....there is RD....

and the bike pic with the tree and boards on the other side....
