Sorry for the slow response, as Jim said I was a bit busy!

Adv access was limited to my phone on a dodgy connection. Yes, as indicated above, everything came in, normal service was resumed, and the attendant discount removed.

Ps: if you look closely, you can see the double take in the picture- yet more thorough product testing!

Thanks Ned! I've been riding around for more than a few years with just a left mirror to stay legal but it's piratically useless. Can't wait to give these a try.

Wow Ned, you're out racing and my order still came in 4 days. Are you stuffing envelopes while you're catching air or something?

They look great BTW, also look indestructible. Also about the same price for two of these as one OEM. No brainer, thanks.

I'm also not sure if the metal or nylon spacers are a better idea (the availability of each was a bit different at each of the two hardware stores I stopped at; the short version is that the spacer needs to have a small-enough outer diameter to fit through the mirror stalk hole and a large-enough inner diameter to fit as a sleeve on the M8 bolt.

Reservoir cover mount is perfect. http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResul...5/Default.aspx

I wanted to mount my mirrors in the original position on my R1150GS like you, so I used RAM mount RAM-B-367U:

combined with a M8-1.25 x 90mm bolt from Fastenal sku 39599:

with two 3/8-in x 1/2-in x 1-in spacers from Lowes pn 880417:

and the original mirror nut.

Perfect position and and just as stable as the original mirrors.

Great product BTW, thank!

Go2CNavy! Funny to see your name just before my post! I received my Doubletake order yesterday! A funny coincidence since you and I never talked about these mirrors.. Also a strange coincidence because....

Neduro and I both took part in the "Roaming Rally" ride in Canada last year. This year the organizers wanted there to be teams so no one was left behind and I am on a team of five which includes Go2CNavy! I've never actually met Go2CNavy as of yet.. Plus I mostly ordered these mirrors in anticipation of the 2013 Roaming Rally!

On a side note (actually what I came here to post) I found out that my 2007 F650gs [and I assume most or all of the F650 thumpers] has an M8-1.25 mirror mount; not the later BMW 10mm mounts.. Just a heads up to others looking to place an order.. The mirrors are great and I think I'll just pick up some M8 to M10 adapters which will be barely noticeable..
