My 98 R1100GS is a victim of HES failure . Anyone want to sell a good used one, rebuilt or even new?

While you have them on the line order a new belt for it too while you've got it apart

If you're not in a rush and want to fix it cheap you can buy the sensor elements from Alibaba direct from China, I made inquiries when I found mine was busted.

I didn't want to wait so I bought from BB

Good to know.
But usually the sensor is fine, its the cable insulation that perishes.
Some have pulled new silicon wires into the existing sheath.
I bought a waterproof setup from Cata Dan. Still going strong.

My sensors were DOA, the alternator belt had failed badly and wrapped itself around the crank pulley behind, destroying the sensors.

Okay, I have had it back together for several weeks now and everything is fine. I just scribe marks around the AGS plate before removing it and reinstalled it to those marks. No need to reset position with LED light as some described. Notch on lower crank pulley lined up and installed just fine.
