Beach Race - Weston Super Mare, UK
Last weekend was the annual beach race at Weston. Sunday saw the solo bikes race, over a thousand lunatics racing for 3 hours around a manmade course including over 40 artificial 'dunes'. Throw in some really grotty weather in the days running up to the event, and it's no exaggeration to say the race is tough on body, soul and bike.
The massed start
Imagine the sound!
WFO on the 1 mile straight
Braking into the 1st corner
And into the dunes...
Some of the smaller berms were soon excavated!
The lower the number the better the rider
Spectators on the outside of a corner?
Soon the ruts started to appear in the soft sand
And they got deeper...
Taking a breather...
...until 3 spectators help pull the bike out
For some it's the taking part that matters!
I dunno who won, or how many laps they completed, as the website hasn't been updated yet. Another great day out, in October!?

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family.
Choose a fucking big television.
Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows,
stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth.
Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home,
nothing more than an embarrasment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself.
Choose your future. Choose life.
I chose not to choose life, I chose something else instead.
